Was Richmond travel weary a few years ago when they rode out of there with a win?
This just keeps getting dumber and dumber.
I guess there is NO reason at all for KU to waste their time playing Wichita State. Just as there's no reason to play Colorado State or Miami of Ohio or Toledo.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Answer any of these:
Why does WSU being in the same state make them a more desireable opponent in KU's eyes?
Why would KU see WSU as a more desireable opponent than any other mid-major out there?
Travel weariness may be a small factor, but why would KU benefit from playing a team that has a shorter distance to travel?
Why are you implying that playing Colorado State is a worse choice for KU than playing WSU?
Can we have a real discussion now?

How about you start answering some questions now? I've answered yours. Besides, over half the questions you are asking are from a KU perspective. I'm not a KU fan so I dunno and I don't care.
You seriously think Colorado State is a better opponent than Wichita State is for KU?
Good Lord, this is pointless.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Because it's good for the game. College basketball SHOULDN'T be about money, and I am under no illusion that's the case.
It should all be about what KU has to gain and nothing else.
Why does North Carolina play Davidson?
Why does Texas A&M play Sam Houston State?
Why does Portland play Oregon?
The single biggest reason a KU would not be interested in playing a WSU is the fact that they know there is a real possibility of losing the game. And since KU and other programs have built up a perceived notion that WSU is inferior to that of KU and other schools that field the great sport of BCS football, KU would never be able to live with it, so they simply avoid it or chickensh*t out of it and try to wipe it under the rug.
This argument about "Why doesn't KU play us" only comes up when we are good. It didn't come up in 2008 when we were horrible and KU was #1 all season. If I remember correctly, many people on here said, "I don't want to play KU this year. Let's wait a few years when we're better". I'm beginning to wonder if many of us just want to play KU when it's convenient for US.Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:

Kansas hosts the annual "Sunflower Showdown" tournament. Each year KU, WSU, KSU and one invited team gather at either Intrust Bank arena or the Sprint Center to play 2 games in a weekend. We can bring in a different team each year to round out the field. BCS, non BCS, it doesn't matter. Each team gets 2 games against a solid opponent and the winner gets bragging rights.
Technically it helps Kansas more when its held in Wichita but it would still be a great way to bring people into Wichita and Kansas City.

What kind of a question is that? It's like us saying, "Why does WSU play Evansville?"

We're very much competitive overall and no matter how good or bad EITHER team is, I wanna see the game every year. I truly feel that way. Sure I want the best chance to beat them, and it would be better for us if the games were competitive, but I want to play them. I just don't see the 90's happening anytime soon.. if ever again.

Jamar, by your logic, whenever KU is ranked #1 in the nation, they stand to gain nothing by playing anyone, even the #2 ranked team in the nation.
Postulating odd questions with debatable relevance to the issue at hand, then refusing to add any more to the discussion unless someone deign answer your question, does not a good discussion make.
Just accept the fact that someone may not have a good answer to your question simply because it's not a good question and move on.The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
