Sunday afternoon a source close to the VCU basketball program confirmed to me that Alden left a voicemail with Teague today.
Teague nor Smart has responded to Alden.
I have since confirmed through the same VCU source and a major college athletic director that North Carolina State is in hot pursuit of Smart, with the Wolfpack prepared to offer a more generous financial package that what Missouri was likely to propose to the VCU coach.

Mizzou is not going to get Shaka Smart. They will get a fallback hire and I don't think (knock on wood) that it would be Marshall. Ben Jacobsen is getting more air time than Marshall and nobody wants Northern Iowa's0 style of play in Columbia...

I think Ben Jacobson understands he is under paid and UNI is not a long term solution.

Has anyone heard whether Mike Kennedy got another Coach's Show set up for Monday? Even if Marshall is still in Dallas for the Championship Game, they could still do it by telephone (they did for GS when he was in Hawaii)

Mizzou should have looked at Jacobsen by now. He has beaten KU...that should be at the top of their list when looking for a coach.
