Another tough game regardless of where UTA has played their games. Hopefully, after PJam, we don't overlook anyone. I can't imagine anyone (playing for WSU) thinking they're good enough to just "show up" and they'll perform well. They've had to work for these wins, and anything less than full effort is just not going to bode well for the Shocker faithful.

They are an experienced group and I'm looking forward to a good crowd.

    WSU 70
    Bad guys 65

For the official record, I would like to see Ellis or Griskenas do well or contribute something (rebound, block shot, whatever) that hopefully lifts their confidence. We're going to need everyone. :goshocks:

I seem to recall a regular UTSA fan on this site. I wonder where he is? Wish he would make a return as he was pretty insightful.

I just checked the Ticket Marketplace as I need 1 for Friday. Almost 40 tickets available on the marketplace and more than a few good seats.

All the GA tickets you want are available for purchase. Also, for the first time that I recall since announcing the "sold out for the year" thing, they have reserved chairbacks available.

        Hmmmmmm.............

i just took your advice and ordered two tickets online.

my mother and I will be in attendance.
it will be my 3rd game (shox lost the previous two...) and her first.

should be sweet. any victory is sweet.

I hope it is a highly competitive game. For one thing I rather watch the Shocks play a good, tough opponent than see them wipe the floor with an over-matched opponent.

It also is better for the development of the team.

And we can use all the RPI boosters we can get.

My wish list for the Texas-Arlington Game:

                  1. The Shocks play two good halves of basketball.
                  2. Gal shows improvement with his ballhandling.
                  3. Mantas and/or Aaron show some signs of breaking out.
                  4. The Shocks win the game (which I think they will if the results of items 1-3 are positive).

General Admission tickets are still available for the Texas-Arlington game.

WICHITA, Kan. -- P.J. Couisnard recorded his second double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Wichita State fell to Texas-Arlington 60-59 Friday night inside Charles Koch Arena.

Time to get on the Bus, Gus! Spend a little green, Gene!

                    Enjoy some Shocker joy, Roy!

the problem for me is that i'm always afriad i'll drive to wichita then have the game be sold out... then i'll have nothing to do in wichita... and being a cheapass that i am, i will complain about the gas i've wasted..
even if i did find something else to do that would mean i wouldnt be able to listen to the game on the radio like i usually do!

what a dilemma i'm always in...

anyhow, i'm convinced that the crowd will not sellout because this is another no-name team.

                      go shox!
Buy the tix online before you come, problem solved (assuming you have internet access)

Veteran ball club. Balanced scoring. A couple of proven "go-to" guys. I agree with those who think we could be in for a real battle tonight.

From the write-up in the Eagle sounds like Texas Arlington will be more of an inside oriented team, lead by their 6'9" Senior Center, Jermaine Griffin.

This will be somewhat of a change of pace for the Shocks whose better opponent so far this year have been more guard/perimeter oriented.l It will be interesting to see how the Shocks handle a more inside oriented team.

While Texas Arlington is 7-0 they have played 6 of their 7 games at home and their schedule is not exactly a murderers row.

Home wins include UC-Riverside, Texas Southern, North Texas, Schreiner (Non-Scholarship), Texas Wesleyan (NAIA) and Western Illinois.

Their lone road game was a win over Arkansas-Little Rock.

I think UTA having a strong post game is a good thing. We've done pretty well against solid post players (Baylor) so far this year and struggled with hot-shooting guards. If that trend holds true, I really like our chances for a win as solid as the UMBC game.

Where's the beef? For Texas Arlington:

                              6'9" 240lb Senior Center - Jermaine Griffin
                              6'5" 250lb Senior Forward - Larry Posey
                              6'7" 230lb Junior Forward - Anthony Vereen

I think the Shocks will be able to match up very well with UTA on the perimeter.

We are going to need good games from Phil, JT, and Ramon and it would be nice if Mantas and Aaron could get going. I would think Manta and Aaron could present some match up issues for UTA, but they need to play with more confidence.

Do we try to run this guys up and down the court to try and wear them down?

The one exception might be North Texas. They are a good team and they gave the Texas Longhorns a pretty good game the other night before the Horns finally pulled away late in the second half. I agree, however, that if Shocker fans are in full voice, the home advantage may affect UTA.
