  • I'm wondering if I was around any SN brethren last night. Thanks to a ticket problem, I was given section 121 row 9. Lynn Marshall was across the aisle and three rows down from me. She is no wallflower fan!

I know it's been asked or said, but where was that team at the last month? Awesome job!

I'm taking your remark as a slap against crowd noise from the season ticket holders this season. I don't know if you are a season ticket holder or not and I don't care. I'm going to get my two cents in anyway. There were a LOT of season ticket holders there last night and frankly, if the Shocks had played like that all season, you would have had the identical reaction from the crowd that is ALWAYS there, every game -- game in, game out. I'm so tired of non season ticket holders complaining about the lack of crowd noise. Get off your arse and buy a GA ticket -- they were available. Until you do that, shut the hell up about crowd noise. Crowd noise can generally be equated to the product on the floor. If you don't have anything to yell about, it's tough to get excited. NOW I feel better.

This is probably our last home game this year and what a way to go out. Great, Great game and the crowd was electric -- but so was the play on the floor. (see how they go hand in hand)

P.S. - If you are from out of town and feel it is too far to drive for a game, okay that's your choice. But then you should have no dog in this fight so lay off the fans that do show up every game.

        • 21, great comment. It should be replayed again and again whenever some one starts complaining or blaming the crowd for non-support.

I'd buy the argument that the crowd's noise was a result of the team's play if it wasn't for the fact that the crowd was louder and more energetic before the game even started that we have tended to be this year. Certainly the play of the team helped a lot, but it was clear before the team even came out of the locker room that it was going to be a good crowd.

            • At the start of the game the noise had the "rumble" going, which takes a LOT, even in CKA. Last night's crowd would have been off the charts in volume if necessary.

              It was not.

We were a good ol' loud and proud last night.

The announcers were very complimentary of our crowd several times. At the end of the game they even gave the crowd (as well as the team) kudos for bringing their A game tonight.

Before the game, the announcer said "we will have a great crowd tonight because quite frankly that's what happens every time Wichita State plays in this building."

Another real good line from early in the game was something like "Break out the ear muffs, you would think it was the final 4 not the first round of the NIT".
Another complimentary comment by the ESPN announcers (and I don't remember the exact circumstances), was an obvious "minor" foul by one of players, very late in the game, which was not called.

One announcer wondered aloud why they didn't call that foul and his partner laughingly commented, "Perhaps they want to get out of this building alive!"

                • Listened to the game live on ESPN2.

I thought these were the two best announcer and analysts we've had all year.

                  The crowd was great.

I could hear you guys all the way out here in California.

You don't get better than Mike Patrick in my humble opinion. I'd get into a curling match that he was calling.

March 16th will go down as one of the better non-championship days in recent Shocker history. I'd like Sunday to compare, if no one minds.

                        Who was analyst?

I believe it was the talented Mr. Dan Dakich.

How can you not like Mike Patrick, he called one of the most important plays in WSU sports history. I love it!

                          • If I'd known he was calling the game, I would've brought my DVD of the 1991 Creighton game (that one of my fine SN friends provided) and had him sign it. Darn!

Was ShockBand your hook-up? I would absolutely LOVE that game and pay a good penny for it. PM me if that's possible!
