I felt AWFUL for him when he was not a part of the end of the VCU game. That had to be tough on his confidence, even if his problems might be self inflicted.

I for one still believe in order for us to have success this year and next we need TM on the floor. He is going thru something that a bunch of good D 1 athletes go thru and that is a total lack of confidence. He lost his confidence trying to do more than he was capable of doing. One by being asked to play out of his normal position as a point guard. Two he further lost his confidence by making poor decisions at the end of several close games. He started questioning everything each time he touched the ball, whether to shoot, pass or dribble. Guess what when a player at any level starts thinking rather than reacting naturally with confidence they will go thru the same type of slump Toure' is in. Doc is correct we still need his defense and rebounding. Much like a baseball player going thru a slump; a bloop for a base hit builds more confidence than 5 line drives in row hit at someone.

I think Toure' will come out his "slump" when we start showing him we support him as a valuable member of our beloved Shox and when he makes a drive to the basket, he pulls up and hits a 12 footer and the ball goes in.

He has been a starter and valuable member of a Shocker team that has won 49 games the last two years. The least we can do is try to give him the same effort in support and encouragement he has given us on the court.

I just wish he would go about building his confidence driving to the hole for layups and/or getting fouled, then shooting questionable long jump shots.

Good defender but but has some trouble guarding quick 2s especially dribble penetration. Not a great shooter for a 2 guard. He is long and rangy and quick enough and strong enough to guard 3s so I say play him mostly at the 3.....unless moving him again would be another MF

This didn't seem to be working either. He'd try some layup or shot under the basket and it would get blocked by 3 guys at the same time.

A little hiatus from basketball would probably do TM good. Take the next couple months off, pick-up games over the summer, come back refreshed forgetting all that happened this year.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Is your real name Molly? If so, that would explain a lot.

I don't do this often but I'm gonna disagree with you a bit here Doc. TM is good at poking the ball loose and getting up in some players' grills, especially when he is "into it". However, as mentioned, he could not defend against the dribble penetration. I really started it noticing about midway through the year that numerous, and I do mean numerous times, TM was constantly behind his opponent, chasing him to the basket, watching him score an easy lay-in.

He can, at times, be lock-down. But this year, I haven't seen much of it. Another consistency issue.
