  • I don't see why this thread was raised from the dead, and I don't understand the dog pile on Fever. We blew it last year in going to the Dance - yes it's that simple. Although we did enjoy tremendously a nice consolation NIT Championship, it does not veil the disappointment many Shocker fan had with the outcome at the end of the regular season and MVC tourney.

I also am willing to bet that many of you, including myself, had no idea the team was going to perform this well this season. Losing JT and Gabe down low was a huge loss for us. Stutz's improvement blind sided me and is a huge reason for our success this season. Had GS played like he did the first 3 years, would we still have this type of season? Who knew Ben Smith would also rise to the challenge the way he has and prove to be a valuable cog in the machine giving some relief to Carl Hall?

Hindsight is 20/20 and all you Monday Morning Quarterbacks need to just move along.

Apparently reading comprehension isn't your strong suit:

For instance, a guy like WSUWatcher was no where in this thread last year. He went MIA after the Valley loss. Far easy to point out the flaws of others Watcher, without putting anything out there from yourself. I must've missed your eternal optimism that we were gonna go 25-4 in 2012, the night of the Indiana State loss in St. Louis.

There were some things posters were wrong about (including me). A few were spot-on. Congrats to them with their calls.

I just don't think picking a thread after a brutally bad loss is a fair way of evaluating certain opinions and emotions at the time. Because I still feel that Marshall, IN THAT GAME, was severely out-coached and it happened to be at the wrong time - in the Valley Tournament in a must-win situation.

I think it's safe to say the head man and players have redeemed themselves from that awful night and I'm floored to be where we are at now. And look at Indiana State. Everyone was calling them the 2nd best team in the conference for this year and look where that team is back to? Well, where they belong.

Again, I must've missed your prediction on the incoming season on that day. Speaking of self-righteous..
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

Agreed. What does this really prove? Predictions were being made on the day we lost in St. Louis. There sure weren't a lot of folks around here that are now reviving this thread predicting 25-4 seasons and Valley Championships. I can handle ribbing from people that actually made predictions and were proven right (especially under those circumstances). What I don't understand are the "Monday Morning QBs", as you put it, that didn't speak up at the time of the Indiana State debacle last year and are now chastising those that were making reasonable observations and predictions at the time.

I've been in a real good mood lately. Probably best to just move on and enjoy the ride.
