Creighton went 0-4 against the top 2 teams in the Valley. What makes you think they're the team to win it all?

21st year in St Louis with no championships. However, face it, a lot of those years we we not very good.

The first 20 years gave us championships for 8 number 1 seeds. The MVC 2vd place team won 7, 3rd place 3 and 4th place 2. No team finishing below 4th has ever won in St. L.

Meanwhile, WSU finished 5th or below in the conference 14 of the 20 years.

Don't weigh this year's chances by our overall record. We were rarely in position to win. Our black uniforms have gotten a lot of work.

Bottom line, the tourney has been won by league first or second place teams 15 of 20 years and that is split almost 50/50.

I like our chances. :wsu_posters: :posterwsu:
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

The last Season we won the Valley Championship, Bradley won the Lew and joined us in the Su-weet 16. Bradley got hot at the right time and beat KU. We got hot and even avenged Winthrop's loss to Tennessee don't u c?
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

this was our year, everyone predicted that. just because we lost the valley doesnt mean we won't be upsetting some brackets

Actually SIU won the tournament that year. They beat 6-seed Bradley for the championship.

The real question is can Marshall win his first big game. Forget the Lew losing streak...it's long past due this staff wins a game that counts.

Right now, the staff and players have 3 games that count. Given what's happened so far this season, each game is a big game and there is no room for an "SIU letdown". This team CAN do it. Go Shocks!

Without that year's results in front of me, this is obviously incorrect. BU had to either be a 4 or 5 seed in order to meet us in the semi's that season.

I am almost positive they were a 4 seed in SL before going on to beat KU and Pitt as a 13 seed, then losing to Memphis by a bunch.

Can the Shockers do the Lew? I'm wondering if they can do the winner of Drake-Bradley. After seeing the first halfs of their last two games (and the second halfs weren't so hot either, actually), I'm sceptical of them even seeing it to Saturday. I just hope the good Shocker fans making the trip don't leave early, disappointed.

                            Hope springs eternal.

I have a great feeling about this tournament.

However, last night I watched parts of WSU v UCONN game and was a bit disappointed to find a Shocker team that looked, to me, better than the team taking the floor currently.

I think we can all find some consolation that we are playing away from CKA as long as we keep winning.

See you all in STL. Can't wait!

Nope. WSU was the #1 seed while SIU, MSU, and CU were tied for 2nd with SIU getting the #2 seed. BU and UNI were tied for 5th in the league with Bradley getting the #5 seed. SIU beat BU in the finals.

Thanks. I was getting at the fact that they could not have been a 6 seed, which as you verified, they were not.
