I'm looking forward to a good interview, hopefully no one has to hang up the phone and then ***** about the interview for the next 10 minutes.
A billion times more professional than the Scoop Matilda Show, which he was later fired from. That's why Scoop is being sent packing to New Hampshire. He's just not a professional media mogul. I mean, what radio show hosts do you know have their lives consumed by twitter, facebook, and message boards?

Tell me if this is a good career path market wise.

Omaha ---> Des Moines ---> New Hampshire

Things seem to be going in the right direction, Scoop!

Paul S weighs in on his chat today:

Yes, it's interesting the Marshall leaving talk seems to come from Omaha and - in a totally unrelated development - Creighton and WSU recruit against each other. Gregg may or may not move on. I don't know, He doesn't know. Acting like rumors of coaching moves is some big news is silly. Coaches get better jobs or get fired.

Matt P. exists because there's a demand. I don't consider his profession and mine all that similar.

I'm with Paul S. on this. About the only reports of Marshall leaving are coming out of Omaha. Why would they know - or care?

I've heard Marshall's name mentioned for some spots, but that seems to be sportwriters speculating on potential candidates.

Shox fans have experience with coaches with some suucess in the NCAA's. The rumors fly hot, hard, and heavy even when there's nothing actually happening. They come from ESPN, message boards, local sports writers - and they all get back to us.

Why is it so different with Marshall? The main source of the rumors appears to be Omaha, which really doesn't have much of a dog in that hunt.

I guess if Matilda repeats it often enough to his Omaha captives (try to find a BJ message board that Matilda doesn't control), the ones dumb enough to listen will begin to believe it and repeat it.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I liked Sullenthrop's comment after the Perrault exists because a demand is there line.

I don't consider his profession and mine all that similar.
It was a little remarkable because he doesn't normally make comments like that about others.

It's the cold, hard truth though. They aren't even remotely similar.

One is a highly professional member of the local media covering WSU sports. The other is a complete goon, whose only attempt to gain viewers/readers/listeners is to rough up the feathers. Add that to the complete lack of professionalism and you have somebody who isn't even respected by the fans of the team he covers.

WSU offers new facilities, nice travel and 10,000+ fans every night who get national acclaim. I suspect coach's salary is nationally competitive. If a coach thinks there is a better fit, for whatever reason, so be it.
But this idiot in Omaha seems to throw crap against the wall to see what sticks. To pick a fight with a coach's wife and admit to running from a face-to-face meeting is nothing but cowardly. If you don't want to account for what you say or type, or aren't man enough to support your statements, you should be mute.

I love Matt...he's hilarious. I've said it many times; he's single handedly destroyed CU's message board. They used to have tons of visits and posts, almost as much as our board...but now the place is a ghost town. You can find threads from almost a month ago on both basketball boards on page 1. The "Hilltop", which is their pay section doesn't even have a single post today. Congrats Matt!

Here's their most active thread right now...starts off with them ripping on a different media guy in Omaha, but quickly turns to a ripfest on MattyP. I only got through page 1, I'll save chapters 2 and 3 for the weekend.

I wouldn't be too quick to say this. They look much like WSU a few years ago with some young talent that couldn't quite put it all together. In a year or two, they could be really dangerous.

Many years ago, while researching military records pertaining to the Civil War, I stumbled across a Confederate Officer's Efficiency Report from his commanding officer. I have used the quote from time to time in describing some individuals it has been my bad to have known.

I believe it describes, one each, Matt Perrault to a tee.

The quote is: "A knave, despised by all."

I wouldn't say they are fading either , more like reloading...they have some really good young players, and with us losing 3 bigs and Hatch, I am a little concerned about next year and think Creighton may be picked near the top in pre-season

I am not that concerned about next year. We have our PG in Rags and hopefully DW will make big strides too. Murry and Kyles will be seniors and they should step it up after an up and down Junior year. Smith will get better at the three. Carl Hall will be a stud at the 4 and White should get some good minutes too. Stutz will have a better Senior year and EO will have another year under his belt and be a defensive force. I think we add one more late JUCO guy that will also give us a boost as well.

And I have a feeling that Wessel may provide quality minutes backing up Smith at the 3. He won't need to do a lot, but I think he'll get us what we need in relief there.

I'm going to add Cotton as a potential contributor by years end. Our front court could be one of the best or worst in the Valley next year. All four players are unproven (at least on a consistent basis), but I tend to believe that Hall and Stutz will be very good. We'll see.
