Just watched the last 2 shots. I have no idea how that wasn't a foul on us when McDermott took that last shot. ;-)
Graham did get a little chest bump in there.

Right on cue, Mike identified him as DOFO and guess what? DOFO needed to turn his radio down....it took about 3 attempts (at least) to get DOFO on the line.

      His question?

Unmistakably DOFO'esque. He wanted to know if WSU won Saturday, would they cut down the nets.....

Seriously, Mr. and Mrs. DOFO or whomever has legal custody of DOFO, you gotta reign him in a bit.

      :D

      • Anybody see the replay of the no-call goaltending? Was it on the way down?

        • I say the replay on Fox and thought it was clearly goaltending - not even close.

Remember when Billy Tubbs cut down the nets at Allen Fieldhouse when OU clinched the Big 8 championship? I think that hastened the departure of Ted Owens.

          • Definitely goal tending! Slomo showed the ball coming down. We get homered again at home.

Maybe that was the other piece of luck pin was referring to: Dwayne Gladden was officiating somewhere else last night. What say you, ShockRef -- was it a foul? And if not, why not?

              • Anyone notice just how close Rags was to the baseline on that last shot? I watched it several times in SlowMo after I got home and you couldn't tell from the camera angle, but boy did it look close. I will have to admit though, there was an official standing right there and as we know the refs don't miss things like that. :)

All I can say is -- whew! But this game should never have come down to that last minute. We are not playing our best ball right now. At the12:54 mark after a layup by Blair we scored 3 -- count them please -- 3 baskets (2 threes and 1 two) for 8 points -- the rest were FT's . In almost 13 minutes. Thankfully, CU didn't score that much either.

                • What a great nail biting game I would not have it any other way! My only issue last night besides the refs, is our student section. I really hope they bring their A game to St. Louis and quit the embarrassment that it is currently. I am not talking about anyone specifically but as a whole you guys need some chants and some originality. Take a note from other schools conference and non conference and you will realize what I am talking about. I want actual students to get there early enough to take over the first 3 rows of any game tha tis my challenge to you. I have heard from enough people about 2 and 3 year old kids being on the front row on tv you have to wonder why people make fun of us. Quit bitching at the parents of the players but focus on the game, get loud, get crazy. Where is the confetti when we make an important shot, where are the signs, where is "Wave the Wheat", where is "these refs suck" (and by god get rid of "you suck....balls" that chant is old and has been going on for at least 10 years.

I won't say anymore, just get it together guys, you have such great potential!

Vividly. That was an interesting evening, to say the least.

It's real simple then, they take their own ladder and scissors and prop them up behind the bench.

Couldn't do that either. They may not like us, or our Coach, after that.

How would we live with ourselves if that ever happened?

Maybe leaving them on the bus or in the locker room would be a better idea. Send the manager for them with about 3 minutes left in the game.

It might provide MSU some unneeded motivation if you brought them out with you before the game started.

Maybe the MVC can schedule WSU in Omaha for their Sr. night again like they did for about 5 years. Marshall cutting down the nets in the Qwest would probably cause some wadded panties. That would probably give Matty weeks worth of material for his - uh - whatever it is he does.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

That wouldn't be good... Not only would it piss off Scoop and CU, but also UNO and UNL since they rent that building too.

UNO rents it for hockey only so I don't think that really is a conflict, and as far as I know UNL has only rented the Q once for basketball. Although UNL may have rented it for Volleyball too (again not really a conflict).
