Aaron Ellis took the game ball home tonight. His momento for his game winning shot.
I'm happy for him. He's really improved as a player over the past few years and all his hard work came through for him tonight. He'll remember that shot for the rest of his life.
I can't believe DOFO actually called into the pregame and identified himself as DOFO.
Right on cue, Mike identified him as DOFO and guess what? DOFO needed to turn his radio down....it took about 3 attempts (at least) to get DOFO on the line.
His question?
Unmistakably DOFO'esque. He wanted to know if WSU won Saturday, would they cut down the nets.....
Seriously, Mr. and Mrs. DOFO or whomever has legal custody of DOFO, you gotta reign him in a bit.
Are you serious? I can't believe I missed that.
Not the first time the DOFster has called in. And as you might imagine, those questions were similarly interesting.
Do they podcast the pregame with call-ins?
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Where's ShoxMVC and the other posters who make the 20-page threads after the Shox lose a game?
CU is going to be pretty darn good for a few years with McDermott, Manigat, and Echenique.
Murry is my torch-bearer for the Shox losing at home. He's the guy who seems to consistently have problems playing in Wichita.
I didn't want to post, Aargh, because I had decided (at least for tonight) not to post anything negative after a win in honor of the seniors and you. :D
I'm glad Aaron grabbed the game ball. Getting the winning shot tonight could not have happened to a better guy and true team player. I loved the post game interview when MK asked him about the beginning of the season and the possibility of red-shirting. He said that if that was what coach wanted him to do, he'd do it. Then before the first game he said coach just came by him and said "You're not red-shirting".

Someone at the luncheon on Tuesday asked that same question. Marshall replied saying that he didn't wan't to ask Mo St. for a ladder :D
Well deserved win Shox! Creighton just wouldn't go away...
I also thought our interior D was pretty weak throughout the game. But props to Creighton, they are young and are going to be a team to look out for. They also b*tch more often than not...
It was odd I was trying to find a parking spot on the East Side of Koch and who else but Toure and EO literally run out in front of my car. Little late to the game it seems....
I had a great time at this game. I get student tickets, and bring my dad for most of them. He has been a life-long fan of the Shox and can remember going to the games as a boy with his dad. He told me last night that people could smoke in the arena and you couldn't see the fans across the court because of it....
Anyway, I was screaming so much, my throat is enflamed and I cannot talk much. Calling in sick for work since I teach.....

"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden
Really enjoyed watching the game in Koch last night. Honestly, if felt like the other loses except for one thing: I knew we had a floor general in Joe. He just about won the game vs VCU (thanks ref) and made a solid play to Ellis to win this one (plus he hit key FTs and a key 3 again). Joe is starting to take charge at just the right time.
Very happy that the Seniors all had solid moments and contributions.
Perhaps, but sometimes it comes down to players making plays. It wasn't pretty and it wasn't as drawn up but Joe and Aaron both made a play when we needed it. Sometimes you make your luck.
Joe goes baseline a lot. He does a good job of keeping his head up and keeping his dribble alive. If that's what the defense gives you, sometimes you have to take it. It was better than any player out there jacking up a 3. I'll take my chances with Joe going to the hole.
We've also been very unlucky at home so if we got some luck this time, so be it. It's about time.
WICHITA -- Behind a sellout crowd and the pre-game celebration of the senior class the Wichita State University men's basketball team gave the Shocker faithful a dramatic win to close out the 2010-11 home slate as the Shockers defeated Creighton 67-65 Wednesday night.
I thought Toure was bad in the second half and horrific in the first half. Dunno if he is having personal issues or what, but he is nowhere close to being the player we invisioned. Sad.
