For all you guys bad mouthin' how bad MSU is, please remember this:
1) If we had taken care of business earlier, we wouldn't be looking up at Ill St. It's not the last place team's responsibilty to do our job for us.
2) MSU has been getting beat by Ill St at home. If Ill St sweeps, think how it'll look if we lose just one game to MSU at home. Hopefully, it won't be the one game that keeps us in 2nd at the end of the regular season.
3) Nice fodder for the MSU locker room.
4) MSU has done something this year we haven't been able to do. They beat ORU 3 times by a total of 33-5. We've managed to LOSE 3 times by a 6-22 margin.

:wsu_posters:
Wsu did what it had to do against isu. Of course they could have taken all 3 would have been better.
swomo does suck and sucks badly. But I highly doubt they are getting their motivation from shockernet. Regardless, if wsu comes prepared that weekend and punches them in the mouth swomo will get smoked like a cheap cigar. If they come out with no fire like they done this year they will get embarrassed. But it will have nothing to do with sn or karma.
But, much as I hate to sound like KC, let me just remind our karma believers that the biggest difference between MSU's Saturday debacle against IlSt and WSU's frightful performance in the middle game against ISU was that against the Shocks, IlSt didn't stop at 11; they kept scoring until the run rule kicked in at 18(!). MSU at least kept it close enough to make the loss frustrating, whereas WSU didn't even compete.
I for one will be much more comfortable mocking MSU after the Shocks have swept them (assuming that happens). Until then, all this talk about how pathetic the Bears are may just serve as an embarrassment if WSU fails to take care of business against them.
PuppyWatcher,
If we don't sweep MSU at home with a conference title on the line, then it will be an "embarrassment". There will be no questions about that one.
So yes, MSU is God-awful.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Don't they look at winning percentage as the final verdict for seeds in the tourney? If we won today and Ill. St lost, we would be 1/2 game ahead of them, but yet still behind in winning percentage. That would be goofy if the season ended that with that type of situation.
Huh?
Illinois State still has two conference series left after this weekend. We only have one. They'll catch up in games played.

oh, I know, I'm just saying that it actually could happen some day that a team could finish a half game up but behind in winning percentage if you had a year where one team had way more rain outs. I guess my question is, does the winning percentage only factor on on teams tied, or is it the only factor involved.

Already happened.
2006: EU (16-8 ) finished 1/2 ahead of MSU (15-8 ). MSU swept EU in 3 games also (though EU beat them twice when it meant the most - MVC tourney). And their rain out game was against Bradley.
Winning Pct is the only thing the league uses for determining the regular season winner.

As for #1, it had nothing to do with how we played Ill St. Ill St won 2 of 3 at In St, we won 1 of 3. Ill St sweep SIU at home, we won 2 of 3 at home.
#2 and #3, yes, MSU doesn't need any additional motivation, nor should WSU. MSU posters do look at SN and I'm sure they would like nothing better than to give their boys extra ammo.

until the season over you can't judge who took care of business or not over the whole league.

Bulletin board material is for those who are not self motivated.
#4. Oh, you didn't address that.
Then I must have agree or had no argument. Lets face it, WSU non-conference performance has left alot to be desired.
Attendance Saturday 1,013. Was NU spring game played at the same time?
How many were Shocker fans?
Was at the game -- at least 300. It was a bad day weather-wise, but Creighton's draw has been brutal all year. The previous Nebraska-Creighton game at Rosenblatt drew the fewest of any Nebraksa-Creighton Rosenblatt game EVER. Two bad D-I baseball teams in the state, not much to be excited about for the hometown fans -- which makes it the perfect time to be a transplant :)
