    TJ and Harbutz

Very disappointing outing (again) by McGreevey. After he showed some early promise, it now seems more and more apparent that he simply isn't ready for prime time. WSU really needs a return -- and return to form -- from Lowell.

As for Harbutz and his failure with two in scoring position in the third... I'm not at the ballpark, obviously, and if last night's numbers are any indication neither are too many Redbird fans. But he does have the second-best walks / plate appearances ratio among the regulars, which suggests pretty decent strike zone judgment, so I'm willing to give him a pass in a spot where taking ball four would have filled the bases.

Nice job by Muncrief to escape but that 0-2 pitch was way too fat. He was very fortunate to get the foul out on that one.

Got to get the bats going Shocks.

        Pitching and defense.

Two poor at-bats by Goro and Grimes, followed by doubles by Baez and Springer.

              Shox tie it up 8-8.

What's your assessment of the pitching so far, Sunshine Pumper?

The same as it has always been: God awful.

But our offense? Streaky, but when they are hitting, they are destroying the ball.. Case in point: Tied game, by who? Springer. He, along with Jones, Coy, and Lassley have enough talent to make up for the sad excuse for a bullpen[/i]

                    • Lassley HBP. 1st and 2nd, 2 down. McKeever pinch-hits for Bennett.

We have plenty of guys who want to pitch. We need to find someone that actually can pitch.

                        • Springer is just a stud. A big 2-out hit.

It's all about pitching and defense, as shock10 said.

                            • Clint put a pretty good swing on that ball but right at the leftfielder.
