Yes it was a well played game, in front of an Eck Stadium record crowd to boot.

Oh and don't listen to Fev, I've never said K-State has surpassed WSU. I have just made him mad because every time K-State losses to WSU (which is early and often these days) he goes on a tangent that completely re-writes the history of K-State sports and I called him out on it.

But the irony is outstanding . . . K-State has bandwagon fans, but then Fev tells me that the bandwagon K-State fans filled the empty seats that the non bandwagon WSU fans left unfilled.

I agree. It's funny that their proud accomplishments are merely "1 NCAA Regional appearance". That's it. It most certainly is a flash-in-the-pan type effect that will simmer down and the KSU bandwagon fanbase will be forced to step side from intercollegiate athletics and support the Lakers or the Yankees.

Their athletic program is too weak overall to support multiple successful sports. By dumb luck, they caught the "flash" with 2 sports at the same time. Even so, their baseball team has won 2 NCAA Tournament games. Yes, 2.

Yet as a school, WSU was too weak to support the 2 major sports. A school of nearly 14 or 15,000 students at the time, in a city of over 300K people, too weak and to poor to support a football program that in 1980's dollars needed less than $1 million a year to operate. A school forced to drop football because the bandwagon fans wouldn't show up for games and boosters wouldn't support the program.

sorry, i am the wrong person to talk to about football. i was born and raised in nebraska. wsu's program was dropped before i even knew of wsu. but had some moron not dropped the football program i would be cheering on shocker football.
