It isn't just the hitters. 4 of the ORU hits including the 2-run homer have come on 0-2 counts.

IMHO, that is just not very intelligent pitching or we simply have no command of the strike zone (or the ability to miss the strike zone when the situation calls for it). Either way I really dislike 0-2 hits, especially solid 0-2 hits like we have given up to ORU today.

I hope it works out, but sac bunting with 2 on and down 3 makes very little sense.

I'm going to go with that we are still in the rebuilding process after our back-to-back SR appearences. The Valley Tourney Championship will be our only hope for another run at the NCAA's. Thankfully, the valley still stinks (but so do we I guess), but it is our best chance.

I'm just hoping we can reach the 30 win plateau again this year. But if Long Beach and Fullerton can have down years, so can we. Parity in college baseball has been showing its teeth and it shows for us.

In this particular case I don't mind the sac bunt. Tyler Grimes was 1 for his last 13. It took the double play out the equation and allowed us to get to Preston Springer with a chance to tie the game with a big fly.

Unfortunately, it did not work out that well.

Hard to argue with that at this point. If that is the case let's get on with the rebuilding a play the young guys as much as possible.

Maybe put Harbutz at 2nd, Goro at 2nd and sit Baez.

Give Chris O'Brien half the starts behind the plate.

Keep pitching the young guys and hope you don't destroy their confidence.

Wow, think there is any frustration in the dugout? Hitting =no Fielding =no and now pitching =no

hope they find their way soon!

              Go Shox!

Did I hear Mike Kennedy say this ORU pitcher who is about to pitch a complete game came in with an 8.83 ERA?

ORU's starter enters the 9th having thrown 118 pitches. He really extended himself in the 9th. Took him 5 pitches to set the Shocks down.

                    Final ORU 8 - Shocks 1.

                    :(

Glad I didn't waste my money going to Tulsa for this one. This team is horrible on the road.

Of course, we always make these guys look like Cy Young. It's been that way for a while now. I'm laughing with you by the way. I'm past crying and gettin angry now.

Ummm. This is frustrating. I can't place the blame on the players. Those guys are a talented group. What in the world is going on?

Calling ACJT: What's the explanation for the lousy defense and terrible hitting? What are you doing to these guys??? Maybe you need to walk back from Tulsa and think how to put together a good resume or put together a good defensive and hitting team. Your choice.

At the start of the season, I was pretty psyched. That now seems like a few seasons ago. Ugh!

It seems everyone that pitches us backwards kills us because we don't make adjustments at the plate. Our hitters always sit fastball no matter the situation it seems. When a team comes out and starts us with breaking pitches to get ahead in the count you know its going to be a long day for us on offense.

Teams have figured out that the fastball is the only pitch this team can hit.

This is the weirdest funk. I can't believe this team is this bad. Maybe will break out of it.
