Ok, that's really stretching it there..

Fever, break it down for me.

    Here's my breakdown per game/series:

    2-1 in Gulf Coast Tourney
    3-0 against NDSU
    1-1 against BYU
    1-3 against TCU
    0-1 against KU
    0-3 against Pepperdine
    2-1 against AR Pine Bluff
    1-3 against LBSU
    0-1 against ORU
    2-1 against Bradley
    0-1 against Nebr.
    2-1 against Ill St.
    0-1 against OU
    3-0 against EU
    0-1 against KSU
    1-0 against KSU
    0-3 against MO St.
    0-1 against OK St.
    0-1 against OU
    3-0 against Indy St.
    1-0 against ORU
    1-0 against KU
    2-1 against SIU
    1-2 against CU

Ok, unless I miscalculated, you predicted 26 wins and missed the UNI and Evansville games in there.

    Are you ever really correct?

Here's the bottom line. Most of us that KNOW and love WSU were confident in the starting pitching....turned out it was better than even the most optimistic fan would have hoped. Injuries and a lack of development in the bullpen were worse than expected. Losing Kevin Hall hurt a lot. Having 1 player batting over .300 in the lineup on the last weekend of the year was, is and will always be mind boggling and inconceivable. The coaching staff did not have their best season.

As a whole, the season has been frustrating, but it isn't over yet.....and if you think it is then stay away from the Eck this week.

    • my ONLY comment on the stealing thing(and, btw, i totally agree with it) is whether we would be moaning about classless if the shoe were on the other foot.

      just sayin'.... :D

Nope! 10 run lead finishes the game, nothing classless about it.

Was Creighton just going to strikeout on purpose the next two innings and not try to score?

The CU players/coach just got raped for the second weekend in a row, they were frustrated.

No run rule and I get it, but Tyler Grimes has a very legit point.

        • Not real sure but I think Creighton started what the Shocks finished. When some scum was awarded a free pass and had something to say to the Shocker dugout as he went to first. The Shocks came out of the dugout and were warned by the first base umpire. This happen in the first game [eagle picture of Gene talking with ump] then home plate ump warns scum. Grimes steal of third was his way of talking I guess.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

No. It was nowhere close. sCUm was still trying to score and WSU had a chance to end the game. Now if WSU was up 12-0 in the 5th and kept stealing maybe it would be different.

BTW, CU baseball quality of program sucks and it looks like it is getting worse.

              • With the 10-run rule sCUm had no reason to ***** about TG's stealing 3rd to be in position to win the game.

They should have been happy. Saved them some pitching with the MVC Tournament coming up and saved them from getting beat 16-1.

                Very low class reaction.

OTOH, Shocks finally showing some competitive fire this series. Hopefully, they can maintain this level and quality of play.

                :goshocks: :good:

                • Trying to run rule a team shows more respect than disrespect in our situation this year.

                  • Cretin was upset about classless behavior. You mean like trying to run a set play for a slam dunk in the closing seconds of a basketball game? Hmmmmm

As others have said and accurately pointed out...

                      NO, not even close molly.

If you get a chance to end a game early and save some arms for the upcoming crucial week, you don't just lay down and hope they make a game outta it. You pounce on them until mercy is given. I however am not surprised in the least that Eddy and sCUm were the ones to whine and b*tch about it. Really hilarious to say the least. And then Eddy's crybaby behavior afterwards.. taking his frustrations out on an innocent newspaper reporter and YELLING out his disgust to the tune that Shocker players' ears could listen.

Oh boy Eddy are you setting yourself up again. I hope the players remember how big of a sCUmmy b*tch you ares and then pounce on you 21-1 on Thursday night.

What an embarrassment to the sCUm program, which SB said, is fading fast into the sunset.. :good:

                      ... No really, deuces.

I'm honored you took the time to look at my breakdown. You are right, I overlooked UNI, but I did include Evansville. And seriously, you are going to bust my butt for being off 1 game? I still say 27 wins is the number and I'm sticking with it. 27 D1 wins that is.

Lastly, don't confuse my dire prediction with my fanhood toward the Shox. You know damn well I am a Shox fan and I'm sorry you don't like that I don't conform to your half glass full - sunny all-day approach to Shocker athletics. I tell it how I see it. Don't like it, too bad for you.

P.S. See you at the games

                        • Actually KC, if you take into account the games that we didn't play you predicted a 22 Div I win season, At this point the Shocks have 24 Div I wins and 3 non Div I wins. According to the bet you made you owe $10 for every game the shocks win in the tourney. And this is with 4 games the Shocks could have easily won lost on the schedule (1 against a team that didn't even make the valley tourney).

                          Wager

If WSU wins only 27 games this year -- no asterisks, no discounting replacements like the two non-Div 1 games instead of the two probable victories lost to weather at Bradley, no ignoring Valley tournament results -- just 27 games, period, I will contribute $150 to either SASO or the Battery Club (your choice) in your name -- or, if you eventually choke on your endless "realism," I'll do it in your memory. If they somehow win even fewer, I'll give you a break and instead of accusing you of being overly optimistic, I'll donate $200 instead...if

I'll do this, that is, if you agree to donate $10 to the same cause of my choosing for every game WSU wins over 27. (Same counting methods: all victories count, including those in postseason play, because that's how the records have always been compiled -- no exceptions, just a win is a win, whether it's against Kansas Wesleyan in April or Texas in June.)

                          • Amusing

Why do I get the feeling that you find KC's response to the discussion of his wild prediction and subsequent doomed bet as amusing as I do, jdmee?

By the way, my friends who are hunters tell me it's weasel season.

Gene said on his show tonight that he was pleased with the play. I don't think too many Shocker fans would be moaning if the shoe was on the other foot. Although Lutz said on the radio tis morning that our coaching staff would be upset with CU if the roles were reversed. Bob has always known more about baseball than Gene.
