        Hey Rosewood,

I've avoided posting here this season as I hate to see the Shocker fans so down on the team. Is this 'down year' a result of WSU signees opting to go pro? I know a few have over the last couple of years.
At Ballard’s Sporting Goods in Aggieville, this season’s popular purple T-Shirt with the “Welcome to Huggieville” greeting had already been replaced with a newer line known as “Welcome to Traitorville.” “Welcome Back to Loserville” might be a more appropriate selection. - msnbc 4/7/07

It's more that all but one of our starters from last year, including our three weekend starters, all went pro or are injured this season.

It is a perfect storm really. We had some good talent graduate (Dirks) and good talent go pro early. We have had some great recruits the last few years sign and never go to college.

Then we ended up with a lot of injuries. I think Hall is still in the top 3 in stolen bases and he hasn't played for months.

Then the guys who we do have are struggling mightily. Dumb mental errors, bad approach to the plate, etc. Some of them would have seen the bench in the past but the roster is too thin to do that.

There are more than enough positives with our starting rotation to think that we will be back with a vengeance next year.

As it has been for several recent years, we're gonna need more than good pitching to get the job done.

I haven't enjoyed Chris at third at all this year. He has been respectable behind the plate though.

Yeah. His bat has to be in the lineup though.

That's good to hear... would like to see the Shocks win the Valley tourney and sneak into the NCAAs just to get these youngsters some experience
