Engrav couldn't have looked worse at the plate until he hit a 2 run double to tie it up at 3.

You can just tell they aren't gonna get over the hump.

            Another flimsy, disappointing series loss.

God, I can't wait til this season ends.

Here comes Caster to the mound, still down 5 to 3.

Let's see how that whole Learning Curve thing works out for him.

                Leadoff walk, surprise surprise.

Strausborger hits into a FC to force the runner at second.

InSU gets another on but he manages to strike out shoemaker

But falls behind 2-0 w/ the 2 outs to Fieser but gets him to ground out.

MK says for the first time since the central Michigan game, our Bullpen has a sub 6 ERA

Too bad we lost the game, 5-3 as Shelton got his 5th save of the season.

9 Strike outs for shocker hitters today.

Well, at least we won one...

They may get a couple against SIU and maybe even one against CU. Hoping for anything more is unrealistic with this group.
The KC 27 win prognostication is looking good. 30 wins is a pipe dream.
                        Who would have thought. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

I was thinking in the top of the ninth about all of those pen problems we were having early this season and the late losses we endured. What if we had used Caster on the mound in a few of those?Maybe a win or 2 more,as Caster has proved to be an asset on the hill.On a side note,Josh Smith may get his first start of the year on Tuesday.

I call BS on the "what-if" scenarios that include Caster.

Yes, Mitch has been pretty good IN EXACTLY 4.0 INNINGS. On Sunday, in his two innings he allowed 3 baserunners. Against MoSt last weekend he gave up a run on 2 hits in 1 inning with the Shox already down 11-4. His other outing was vs. an overmatched Tabor team. The coaches are bringing him into situations where he can have a high probability of success and very little stress.

To consider Mitch as a savior or some sort of lost opportunity is grasping at straws and trying to fault someone for wrecking the season by not using him earlier in the year. It is a fantasy. At times, Sossaman has had good stretches, so have Rem Johnson , Josh Smith, Coby Guy, etc.

Mitch is most certainly a bright spot at the end of a dismal season. Just don't freak out when he gives up a few runs or blows a save, because he will - it's baseball and 2009 Shocker baseball at that.

This all comes down to this team is not good. Will not be good any time soon, and it appears from TV interviews that the coaches have given up on them. So this is a recipe for disaster and will not get any better as long as all the pieces are in place next year.
