You don't remember Caster at Maize because he went to Goddard. :D

Actually, I think Mitch did not play baseball during his senior season due to an injury. Did he play summer ball between Goddard and WSU or did the injury sideline him that summer, too? I don't know. Anyway, according to some Goddard friends, he did pitch some as a HS Jr., but was thought of as more of an offensive star in HS.

Funny story . . . I play church softball with them, their dad and their uncle. Several years ago (10 or so) the PA announcer would do the usual "____ is up, _____ on deck, ____ in the hole". Of course, she used last names until the first time she announced one of our games. Needless to say, they switched to using first names and still do.

Ah, u're right. Senior moment combined with an ice brain fart. All the Maize players go to KU or KSU. Hum, Except for Garrett. I think Mitch played a little with the Wolverines I believe, but mostly outfield. It is simply amazing how many players from Maize and Goddard are currently playing D-1 ball or in the minors from the past six years.

Of course the great white flight out of Wichita to escape USD 259 is the reason for this.

Can you imagine what the city league would have been like if they would have stayed?
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

Actually Mitch played for the Wichita Indians before he played for the Wolverines, and we commonly used him as a pitcher/closer.

I thought Mitch Caster looked awfully good the previous time he pitched- one inning against SWMO during our 12-8 loss a little over a week ago.

He gave up one earned run in that one inning of pitching but he still looked very good. He threw hard and nasty (and that outing was against division 1 hitters). :posterwu:
