Does that 80 mph slider have nasty movement on it? A wicked slider is better than a curve ball IMHO.

The 95mph was great but the slider was just sick.

Two strike outs for Keev. Uno mas.

That makes me think of Nolan Ryan and his 80-85 mph "changeup". Lordy.

14 strike outs for WSU pitching.

This game will help our relief ERA...

Tabor does something weird with their hats...

                  Game over

                  Shox win 5 to 3

Exactly what I was thinking. Struck out two in a scoreless inning. MK said he was consistently 92-95..

Caster looks Nasty.Sossaman played a flawless 2B.Made all of the plays.Remmy hits a pinch double. Are we playing our guys in the wrong positions or what?I'd love to see Mitch on the mound more often. We could use that kind of gas late in games.

Umm, I just was able to stop by for a minute and caught about 5 pitches from Caster......

So were we just holding people back to make a late charge in the year? I realize it was Tabor, but damn.

That was some filthy, nasty pitching and last time I checked we were about 1/2 a person deep in the pen. We can't try this guy a little?

Again, it's not like we have blown a bunch of leads late, but this kid, on this team, as of today, has to be in the mix.

I'm compelled to make a comment about Mitch Caster.

I realize that you can't evaluate a pitcher based solely upon 1 inning of work vs. an NAIA team, but ... WOW! freakin' WOW!

After the second strikeout, I yelled into the dugout, "Why has this guy been hiding in the outfield?" A couple of guys heard me, looked over, and shrugged with BIG smiles on their faces. After Mitch's inning, Lassley came looking for him after he got his gear off and was high-fiving and chest bumping with Mitch.

The fastball was ... FAST. Don't know how much movement he's got on it, but he can most definitely bring it. The slider was just plain NASTY, too. It came into the hitter and just dropped off the table. No chance for the hitters.

I agree with Doc - I'd like to see Mitch get some more chances. It looked to me like he has closer type stuff.

The pitching issues may be working themselves out a bit and Flynn's outing tonight will be a real tell in that area. Now, let's find some hitting, too.

I have NEVER claimed to be any kind of expert in baseball. I love WSU....my knowledge ends just about there.

I think we have some pitching....at least starting pitching...should we not go back to the basics and play tiny, tiny ball until we get some power....say in the next few years? Walk, steal, bunt, bunt.

This is what I'd like to see....I seem to remember it more in the past even when we had strong hitting teams.

I don't remember Caster ever pitching for Maize, or the Wolverines, but he did sound good on the radio.

There was a bit of family connection last night.

Tabor centerfielder Dustin Dick is the older brother of WSU track freshman Devin Dick.
