like I said above, apply option 1 - figure out how to coach -- you guys are supposed to be the experts here.

    3. He said he's coming to the realization that the hitting problems are from a lack of talent in the program.

also like I said, apply option 2 - figure out how to recruit....you hand-picked and signed these guys, Gene.

Stop denying and deflecting and admit the real problem.

(HINT: it's not always just the players)
All of a sudden the most winning coach in college baseball history can't coach. Right?

    ... No really, deuces.

Either his methods he used successfully to motivate don't work with this bunch or he can't recruit hitters anymore...he basically said so himself.

I think their is talent on this team. When teams under achieve and don't gradually get better. Than I do think it is on the coaching.

The past several seasons, I see Gene as getting average hitters with speed, not good hitters period. Cases in point, just locally. Bohannan, Milleville, Huggins, Cruz, Petrich are all excellent hitters at the D-1 level, yet none of them are or were particularly fast. And all of them are playing out of state with the exception of Cruz.

And remember guys, had not everyone taken off last year, most of these guys would be backups this year, and were recruited so to speak as such.

Coaches expected to have Dusty back, as well as to have Logan Watkins in the infield among others coming back from last year's strong team. All the guys who signed, including Derek Norris would have made this a much stronger team.

Mentally, geese, trying to go home when the ball bounces six feet from the catcher, over sliding second in the top of the ninth with the tying run, just little stuff like that kills this team.

Not a lot of baseball sense. Period.

Preston Springer is hitting .424 in one of the best juco conferences in the nation. Let's see if he suddenly loses his feel for batting next year.

So were we lucky to get to Super Regionals the last two years?

So then where does the baseball sense and the approach to hitting come from? You just born with it?

There might be a little bit of a difference between D-1 pitching and JUCO level pitching.

I bet there isnt much difference in JUCO pitching than Valley pitching.
