So where the hell is the game? Not on ShockerRadio.

Never mind. It's on KNSS radio. Unfortunately I don't know how to get this on my iPhone and I have to go back to work.

Kevin Hall out for the year, Muncrief out for this series and they are hoping to have him back for the weekend.

We're down to 10 position players who have started on any sort of regular basis.

Why is this game not on ShockerRadio?

Shane said something like Sossaman, McKeever, Remington Johnson and Mitch Caster are available out of the bullpen today.

Good heavens -- that's quite a crew. Sossamon is pretty solid if he doesn't have to go too long, but let's hope this is another of those 21 run days, just in case.

Two questions: first, what about Hutson and his mysterious numbness -- any idea yet?

And second, if Hall is indeed out for the year, does anyone know for sure if it will be possible for him to get a medical redshirt? He's played in 13 games, which is slightly more than 20% of WSU's regular season schedule, and also just over 20% of what the Shocks will play counting the Valley tournament; the only way they'll get to 65 (13 is 20% of 65) is by playing on into the NCAA tournament for a number of games.

I know that a 20% yardstick applies in some sports -- i.e., if you want to get a "hardship" medical redshirt, you need to have played in fewer than 20% of your team's games. But I don't know whether that also applies in baseball, or if so whether it's a hard and fast rule, or (also if so) whether the 20% applies to scheduled games or total games.

                Remmy looked darn good, wow

Also Blue gave me a stare down. Yea, me! I was standing behind home on the walkway. He called a HPB and walked up towards our dugout to show what happened.

I yelled That's a lie! and when he came back he just gave me the death stare.

Ump interference cost us a run as it cost us a double that was followed up by a base hit up the middle.

So still 3 to 3 top 5th. Lead off HPB (this one was legit).

Still 3 to 3 as we go to the dreaded Mow em down inning. I'll live post this as there has yet to be a qualifier and I find that amazing.

Well, we got the first out quick enough as the runner got out of the base path on a bunt up first.

2 pitches, 2 outs, both right to McKeever on solo put out plays.

Johnson up, last time he was "hit" by pitch.

He takes like 3 hours to get ready and Remmy tosses a nice curve for strike 1

Goes to 1-1, nice strike for 1-2.

Remmington has been awesome and gets the strike out.

Have I mentioned how bad some of our batters have looked against some really slow and bad pitching in the last 2 games?

                              Working

Ah, the joys of work -- I'm at my office computer checking occasionally on Live Stats, instead of enjoying a beautiful day at the ballpark.

Anyway, Rose, speaking of how bad WSU's hitters are looking, I notice that after the Lion pitcher went 3-2 on the first two hitters he faced back in the 5th, McKeever opened the 6th by swinging at the first pitch he saw. Then, right after Lassley walked, Caster made out on the first pitch to him.

I'm all for swinging at the good ones and taking the bad, which is something Gene laments that this year's hitters don't do very well -- but when a pitcher has gone to at least three balls on three of the first six men he's faced, shouldn't a hitter make him throw at least one strike before whacking away?
