At this point, I wouldn't be concerned about RPI, getting into anything, or even winning the Valley; we need to be looking at learning to compete every game.

Hey, exlax, Gene's Shocks have been known in the past to lose to Kearney State. That's Kearney (Neb.) State of the NAIA. Yes, OCU and Grand Canyon and Lewis & Clark have all been good NAIA teams -- but this is not the worst loss ever under Gene, or anything close to it; just a bad loss that probably won't be the last one mixed in with the good wins.

Stuff happens in baseball when you don't show up to play, especially when you have weak links and are a work in progress, as is undeniably the case with this team. I'll give you this, though -- Baez does not belong at a position in the middle of the infield. Gee, I'd rather see high school shortstop Jordan Cooper in the field in games where the Shocks feel the need to rest Brown or Grimes.

I agree. Sit his .246 batting average on the pine along with his .939 fielding percentage. Since we are rebuilding this year, give a young one a chance at 2nd. It can't get any worse. Baez needs to be a fill-in player.
