        I saw this one from the dugout. Semi-pro game at Lawrence Dumont in the old Victory League. I was injured. The guy replacing me at second took a hard slide from a guy who had been AAA with the Angels the year before.

        Sliced his leg open from just above the ankle to just beneath the knee. Carried him off the field on a stretcher and straight into an ambulance. He was cut bad enough nobody wanted to help him off the field 'cause they didn't want the cut to be the low spot when they stood him up.

        I was going to be out 2 weeks minimum. I saw that and decided my injury was career-ending.
        The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
        We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
