  • Where to watch the games?

I am going to be so torn on this one.

First is the obvious choice: At home in front of my big screen TV, with Mike Kennedy in my ear. There is no way in hell I'm listening to whoever ESPN rolls out there.

This way I can pace, I don't have people bugging me, and I when the ol deep freeze opens up I can relax in the comfort of home. Plus, the beer is cheaper and there is no need for a DD. On the downside, if things go south it is my stuff that gets broken.

Second: A bar. But which Bar? I have always been favorable to Old Chicago. Probably some of the best bar food in the city. A great brew selection. Big no smoking sections and lots of TVs. I can sit in a booth and enjoy the game, and then when Dirks gets his big hit, there will be shocker fans around that I can high five like a big baboon.

Downside is the beer tab would have paid for gas to get to the game itself.

So how are the other shockerneters going to take this one? Also, don't even tell me you are going down there. I don't want to hear it from you Mr. I don't even have a real job and they don't care if I just go away for a Friday and plane tickets and hotel rooms and $4 gas ain't no thang. You can just go to your little game, alright?

    What we have so far
Larry Buds, the old Cedar/Tanners - My pick of choice if I decide to leave my domicile. This should probably be your pick as well.

Buffalo Wild Wings on Rock Rd. for hot ASM action
KGSO is at Heros, $3.50 Coronas and Corona Light plus $3.00 Cuervo Margaritas. Gracias Chico
Fox and Hound will probably have some alumni folk as is normally the case.

Come on Rose, we've got 2 spots left on the H400.

    Calculation Steps
    AircraftType: Small Jet
    Dates: 6/6/2008 8:00:00 AM - 6/8/2008 6:15:00 PM

    LEG: KICT-KTLH
    Flight time = 2.398
    Wind adjustment time = -0.237
    ACTUAL flight time = 2.161
    Taxi time = 0.200
    Fuel stop time = 0.000
Minimum leg time = 1.000 (if applicable)
TOTAL time for LEG = 2.361

    LEG: KTLH-KICT
    Flight time = 2.398
    Wind adjustment time = 0.303
    ACTUAL flight time = 2.701
    Taxi time = 0.200
    Fuel stop time = 0.000
Minimum leg time = 1.000 (if applicable)
TOTAL time for LEG = 2.901

    Calculating One Way cost estimate.
    Flight time of 5.263 at $3,900.00/hr = $20,523.98
    ONE WAY COST: $20,523.98

    Calculating Round Trip cost estimate.
    Flight time of 5.263 at $2,700.00/hr = $14,208.91
Flight spans more than one calendar day. Overnight charges of $500.00 * 2 days apply.
    Minimum daily charged for 3 day(s) * 2 hrs/day at $2,700.00/hr plus taxi time for 2 legs + Overnight charges of $500.00 * 2 days.
    ROUND TRIP COST: $18,280.00

Roundtrip calculation is lower. Using Round Trip cost of $18,280.00.

Adding FET charge of 7.5% ($1,371.00). If all legs within US, this tax is applied.

    Best Cost: $19,651.00/7=$2807+tip

Yea, I mean does my daughter really need to go to college? Does that mortgage payment and car payment really have to get paid? This is what credit cards are for, right? Just have to make that minimum monthly payment. Plus, I've been meaning to tell Sallie Mae to sod off...

Also, I'm never really going to retire so why save for that?

IRA? No one knows what that is anyways.

Plus I don't need to eat or anything for those few days. Can I go back to the plane and sleep in it?

Hey this would be the perfect thing to use that $600 tax rebate on.

It may not pay for the whole trip but it sure makes the trip a lot more doable. :wsu_posters:

I got something brewing within that athletic department to get them to open up the baseball stadium or Koch arena to show the games where fans can pile in and watch with other shox fans. Cundiff is bringing it up at a meeting today to see if it can fly. Shelly loved the idea. We will see what happens... I thinks its better than the fox and hound watch parties that aren't great if you have kids. If you can go to the park or the arena people could let their kids run a bit and not worry to much since schools out and its a better environment than a bar and cheaper than a babysitter not to mention easier. I couldn't believe they hadn't thought of it before as lots of schools do it in post season play for their fans.

I'd love to watch the game on the big screen in the Chuck.

Open up the consessions and make a day of it!

Feed in Mike Kennedy and play it over the audio of ESPN and it's all good.

              :good:

That would be the place! I wonder how much cover charge there would be to pay for the CKA cleanup for 3 days.....?

The Chuck won't be used because WSU is being used for MAYB this weekend.

Great point Subgod, I heard it was complete chaos last year when WSU hosted both the super regional and an MAYB tournament last year, they won't want to do that again.

As for the games, Friday I plan on going to Victory Sports Grille on 21st and Ridge and hopefully watching the entire game, before I have to go to WSU for the MAYB tournament. It's a 1:00 start, so I should get to watch all of the game, unless we are getting absolutely hammered.

On Saturday, beings I have my first game at 1:30, I'll have to stay home and watch as much of the game as I can before i go to WSU. And Sunday, if the series goes all 3 games, I'll be missing the game completely. That's why we just need to go ahead and end this thing in 2 games!

                        !

Hes saying that they wont book the Chuck for people to watch games because it will be in use for MAYB.

Not that Wichita St didnt want to host a Super Regional because they have MAYB scheduled.

Larry Bud's will be a great place to watch it! They have TV's galore and excellent food. It will be better than Tanner's as far as number of TV's and good picture and it puts the Cedar to shame. I know it is not open yet...but I have inside experience! Grand opening this Friday the sixth!
