It is being reported that the Rays will not be picking Buster Posey with the number 1 overall pick. They are going to pick Tim Beckham.

If Buster is as good as advertised I'd hope that KC would take a long hard look at him. His power and plate discipline appear to be pretty good. Sounds like they could play him almost anywhere they'd want. And catcher is always an option with KC.

Definitely another possibility as I see it. Hopefully, Maldonado will be healthy and we'll have a frosh or two have a Johnson/Shafer/Pelfrey/Banwart/Capra type first year.

From reading the opinions of KC fans who follow this stuff, I think many of them feel Posey's power will not translate to MLB. Now, if he projects as a catcher, that isn't a problem. Some think he may project as another IRod. But if there is one thing KC needs in its system, it's power hitters.

I actually think his power is what's screwing with scouting director's heads right now. They thought they had him pegged as a .285, 15 hr type of guy in the bigs, but his season is making them question whether or not his upside was completely mis-evaluated.

I think that you have missed some of the recruits that were signed in November.  Maybe, they aren't considered good enough for the draft but they sound very good from the press release with one or two participating in the area code games.
