Wichita is your typical mid-western town. Nice people, low cost of living etc. However, the WSU baseball fans are a tad on the obnoxious side. I guess you can make a parallel between them and OU football fans. Very few actually attended the school.

this is probably that goddard kstate fan that seems to hate on us from time to time. just guessing though.

while every fan base is going to appear to be obnoxious from time to time, it's still very hard to swallow from the OSU fans. honestly. these people just need to stop and consider the many things they have been whining about over the past few days. these people just don't seem to grasp the reality of the series of events. always giving blame and taking credit.

the umps (and the conspiracy theory) allowed you to hit a walk off home run against tcu. obviously no blame towards umps there.

well, similarily we did the same thing. now the umps are to blame? your team lost before the umps tossed your players anyway. you could see it in their composure.

"blah blah blah the NCAA is out to get us. damn that Gene Stephenson blah blah blah."

*sigh* i wish they'd be rational and realistic in their complaints at least.

Whatever Oliver did, OSU had to think there was something to the allegations. You don't pull your ace pitcher when a regional championship is at stake unless there is good cause. If OSU believed Oliver had done no wrong they could have gone ahead with him playing and worried about the consequences later, confident in the fact that he would be cleared. That is, if OSU was the one making the decision. If the NCAA said "NO" he could not pitch, that was it.

I sure hope they get to the bottom of this soon and that we had nothing at all to do with it. I'd love to be able to go on the Poke board and ask if anyone had the gonads to give Gene an apology.

Well this helps explain all the whining you hear in the AVCTL from the Goddard area.

Let's not forget they scored just 3 runs against Shafer, regardless of who pitched for them.

Also, I am surprised no one commented on OSU bringing back Weingarten again to pitch.

And finally McKeever's shot was a bomb. Did you see how high up the foul pole it hit? It looked like it would have cleared the fence by 25 feet. I loved how the OSU right fielder was trying to do a Carlton Fisk and wishing the ball foul.

While we bask in the glory of a legendary win, let us remain (somewhat) humble with the knowledge that this, amongst all events, is a game of inches.

If Josh was a tenth of a second slower, if McKeever was 2 feet to the right......things might be different.

From the KWCH video, it also looked like he made contact with the ball not far from the handle of the bat. Basically, right at the spot where the taper reaches the widest part. If my eyes aren't deceiving me, it would take quite a swing to hit the ball that far.

I noticed this as well. I'm thinking we might have gotten a little bit of help from the aluminum gods last night on that contact.

Of course, that's not to take anything away from Clint's shot for the Shocker history books. :good:

I think you're right... All of his hatred for OSU was built up and funneled into that one swing. The ball may have turned into a fire ball if he had hit it with the barrel of the bat.

Our bats are made of a composite material. It must have been the composite gods, or the carbon nanotube gods.

The reason it comes out now is that the agent involved probably has a relationship with Gene the "stalker" and knocking our ace out of the regional gives them a huge advantage. I would bet money that WSU is at the bottom of this; the agent involved probably "advises" pitchers at WSU on a regular basis and is ticked off because he could not get his foot in the door at OSU. I hope we drop them from all future series and never invite them back to Stillwater. Let them play up there with the little teams in their conference.
If I'm Holder, I am on a mission to find out who is behind this Oliver thing and if it's Gene the stalker, he'd be toast so far as our controllable future is concerned. And if it is him we were right to snub the bastard as we once did.

No accusations, just a wait and see from here.

                              I
root for Florida State. They have a history alot like us. Getting to Omaha often but not winning the big one. Plus I like Mark Martin as a coach. Anybody that plays WSU also. I will root for them to lose every game the rest of my life. That includes OU. Their fans are the worst most obnoxius a holes I have ever been around at a baseball game.

…And drumroll please…the most entertaining post goes to…

I don't give a crap about their obvious inferiority complex with OSU baseball. We've pretty well drilled them for years from my memory, so let the record speak for itself, we don't need to wallow in the mud with them. If their fans want to act like spoiled children, by their deeds we shall know them.
