Very nice performance by Mike. Hopefully, the Mets pitching coach will have the good sense to leave Mike along this time around. If he screws around with Mike again, the Shocks may be looking for a new pitching coach until Kemnits gets out of the mental institution.

"He was electric," said Mets catcher Paul Lo Duca. "He was aggressive from the outset. It was the best stuff I'd caught in a long time."

“Don’t know how many 3-2 sliders I’ve thrown this year,” Pelfrey said.

The answer may be only two. But Pelfrey said he had a short memory. He said that Francoeur was apparently upset because he thought Pelfrey had hit him once before. To which Pelfrey responded, “I don’t remember what I did yesterday.”

I am glad that Mike didn't back down when Francouer was jawing at him. I saw the pitch and there is no way Mike was trying to hit him.

                        Good outing. 5.1 IP, 10 H, 2 BB, 2 R, 2 ER

Didn't actually have good stuff at all tonight but bulldogged through it and got bailed out by Jorge Sosa in the sixth. However, a 3.38 ERA for the night and a W, so overall pretty decent.

I'm not going to lie I hope Pedro takes a little longer than anticipated to come back so Mike can keep pitching. I think regardless they will keep him on the roster, but I would love to see him get some starts come playoff time!!!!!!!
