No matter who we play, it will take our best effort to be successful.
I agree, gotta love the Shox making it to another regional. However, it's just getting tiresome seeing these guys not being able to get over the Regional hump over and over again (sans last year).

1999 Regional - lose twice to OSU in the championship. 2003 Regional - lost to Rice in the Championship game. 2004 - lost to Arkansas twice in the Championship game. 2005 - lost to Tennessee in Championship game. 2006 - lost to OU twice in the Championship game.

If you can't tell I'm utilizing some reverse psycology here so I won't jinx the team tomorrow. In addition, everytime I listen to the game, they lose, so I am going golfing tomorrow afternoon and hopefully the outcome will let me enjoy the rest of my Friday evening.

    Go TCU!

I think Connor said it best....."We have good chemistry on this team" and honestly thats what it takes...I dont pretend to be an expert analyst of this team or of the other teams in this regional other than to say any of them are good enough to win it......

I do know that chemistry wins ....it allows you to ride the confidence of your comrades in arms.. or your teamate's bats in a baseball regional in Stillwater. Sorry if thats a little deep but its the truth...its proven again and again. How much will they do to protect the runner, hit the right cutoff man, scratch out a hit, and know absolutely and without question that everyone else is doing the same.

I am happy they are in a regional and Im excited for our guys chances...Lets enjoy it!!!
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

IMO, that's a pretty impressive streak for a lil ole' midmajor ballclub.

I agree we have proven ourselves to be one of, if not the best mid-major program in the country, now let's see if we can topple the big boys!

What does the term mid-major have to do with college baseball?

            Fullerton
            Long Beach
            Rice
            Wichita State
            Irvine
            Louisville
            Tulane
            Missouri State
            Louisiana-Lafayette
            San Jose State

            Shall I continue?

Frankly, I'm disappointed a Shocker baseball fan would be ignorant enough to consider use of the term. It's something I'd expect to see someplace like... oh let's say a husker baseball forum where college baseball history only started 5 years ago, but not something I expect to see around any college baseball forum with educated, informed posters.

              Mid-major

As our friend Charlie from Arkansas -- which is considered enough of a "big boy" that they were given an at-large spot in the field of 64 without even qualifying for their conference tournament -- once reminded our Shockernet chip-on-the-shoulder (or should I say head-up-the-???) crowd:

When it comes to baseball, WSU is one of the big boys.

Well, well.... unfortunately we are not in a big boy conference, so we can't prove it that way. If we could consistently go to supers and occasionally a cws that would put us up there. To be a legit big boy I think you have to at least prove yourself in the regionals against the others and win at least 33% of the time.

Bottom line- Talk is cheap, show me the regional trophies!

                  From ESPNU

Wichita State's regional hosting ambitions were undermined by its 0-6 record against the top 25 and midweek struggles against Big 12 teams of all stripes, but the Shockers are really built for weekends anyway, with one of the best rotations in America. Left-handers Rob Musgrave (10-1, 1.96) and Anthony Capra (9-0, 2.47) and righty Aaron Shafer (10-3, 2.74) all compete, locate and have plenty of movement on their stuff. The Shockers' other strength is an athletic, versatile lineup, led by second-team preseason All-America third baseman Conor Gillaspie (.421/.506/.708 with 10 homers, 77 RBIs and 16 steals in 18 tries), who ranks among the nation's best hitters. Typical of a Gene Stephenson team, the Shockers have plenty of speed in outfielders Andy Dirks (.394/.507/.628 with nine homers, 53 RBIs and 26 steals in 31 tries) and Ryan Jones (.336 with 16 steals in 20 tries) and shortstop Dusty Coleman (.326 with seven homers, 69 RBIs and 12 steals in 13 tries). Wichita plays a high-octane style that puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenses. The Shockers' biggest soft spot is their lack of pitching depth and suspect bullpen, making it paramount that the three starters pitch deep into ballgames and Wichita can wrap up the regional in three games.

                  The rest of the story
Baseball America breaks down each region in the NCAA tournament.

Yeah, I guess I totally whiffed on the sarcasm in William's post, since it was dripping with it and all.

I have a fairly accurate internet sarcasm meter. It didn't budge after reading the above.
