I'd have to agree with RS, most of these lists (which ironically Wichita generally does well on) are based off of random statistics, with random weighting.

While MSU is personally one of my most disliked MVC schools, I wouldn't necessarily trash on the standard of living in Springfield. If one enjoys spending time outdoors in basically any manner, the Ozarks and it's gorgeous lakes and streams (just out the doorstep from Springfield) provide exponentially more recreational opportunities than the flat, treeless, dustbowl that is south-central Kansas. It's not even a comparison. Sure, they have some backwoods hicks, but we have plenty of their prairie brethren right here in our own backyard. Moonshine or meth, take your pick.

    Just my $.02, of course.

Springfield and Branson are two totally different places. Please don't confuse this.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

        Branson sucks donkey jewels.

The midwest, white trash version of Vegas. No thanks!

When I was talking about the Ozarks outside of Springpatch, I definitely wasn't referring to that tourist trap. I was referring to outdoor activities available to active adults, not western shows and gimmick museums for the retirees.

I agree. I've never even been there and am not into the whole country bumpkin Vegas either.

However, they're slightly ahead of Springfield IMO, which says something.
