The high school bracket is clearly better, but keep in mind that there are some pretty bargain basement programs in the MVC. Believe it or not, some of those teams may actually have considered it an advantage of the Valley format that someone would be able to go home after the first day, thus saving travel expenses.

I really don't mind the set-up for the conference tournament this year. It rewards the top teams while giving the lower teams a shot. Had CU won their games they would have played 4 games total. The format used kept WSU from playing higher RPI teams who really didn't have much of a chance to win anyway.

We could help the conference RPI by just inviting the top four teams and be done with it. It's bad enough we have to put up with the RPI-killers during the regular season.

I have empathy for Creighton.

When CU played SIU, it was the fourth game for CU and the third game for SIU. Yet, both teams only had one loss.
