Actually we hit good pitching pretty well. It is the crap mid-week guys we face with 6+ ERA's that haven't got anybody out all year that we can't hit. It completely baffles me and has for years! There have been several times we face a teams ace pitcher (projected to go in the first 3 rounds) and knock him around and he is gone in the 3rd only to be shutout two days later by a guy getting his 2nd start of the season that has an Opponent average of .362.

Also, doesn't it seem like we give up more 1st career HRs to 9 hole hitters on 0-2 counts than any team ever?

The hitting has been bad as of late, especially with all the injuries and illness. But our relief pitching has been just as bad. We led the OSU game after 7 innings and blew it. There have been several other times we have scored runs to tie or take the lead only to come out and walk the first two hitters we face in the next inning and kick the ball around and give back 3.

This team needs to start playing well VERY soon! I keep thinking we will be like last year and get on another run at the right time. Just makes me so mad to finally get ranked in the top 5 or 10 and then piss it away with lack of concentration and effort.

And don't even get me started on the coaches. Overall I think they are great, but who in their right mind would hold Musgrave, Shafer, and Capra to pitch at Evansville when you have ASU in your home park the same week. THAT IS JUST PLAIN STUPID!!! That was a must win game and although Kelley pitched GREAT! Capra should have relieved him and finished that game. ASU sold out and used weekend starters to win it. Why wouldn't we ESPECIALLY given the fact we have Evansville on the weekend. NO EXCUSE FOR THAT! Hell I probably would have started Shafer and used Capra in relief and Kelley after that. These guys can pitch on three days rest ONE time in a season. It won't kill them!

Uh, Arizona State started their left fielder who had thrown three innings all season.

And i believe they brought in their Friday night starter when we had scored and made it 3-1 and were threatening.

We need some big bats. Without that we will win a ton of Valley titles and NEVER go back to Omaha.

I even go as far as saying never go back to a Super Regional either. Last year was a fluke.

we had a better team last year than this year, and got the benefit of a fairly easy regional. Arizona was tough, but let's face it, there are a lot tougher teams we could have played. This year, I won't be surprised if we go 2 and out in whatever regional we get, wherever it is (cause we all sure as heck know it won't be in Wichita!)
