  • Central Arkansas versus injury riddled Shox

Not much to say, CAU will be throwing out Reese Cross as their pitcher. He is CAU's best pitcher in terms of having the lowest ERA, which is 3.18.
He's thrown 45 innings, allowing 37 hits and striking out 35 batters. Opponents are batting .224 against him - not bad.

He's more of a middle relief guy and starts occassionally. He pitched against K-State and took the loss. He threw 4.2 innings against them giving up 5 runs.

CAU hits .284 as a team. This will be the first time we have played them.

    UCA

Their coach is Doug Clark, who is Cody Clark's dad, by the way. They are leaving Conway this morning, busing to Wichita and then busing back after the game. Tough trip for the Bears.

Espcially when there is a 70% chance of rain today and 70% tonight.

I was going to ask if I should make the 2 hour drive tonight for the game or if it looked like it was going to happen. Thoughts, should I chance it?

People said the OSU game wasn't gonna happen.. I said it was. And it did.. (just barely).

I think most of the stuff holds off until late night. The sun is gonna breakout soon.

If it was Arizona State, I'd say definitely come. Since it's UCA, it's your call.

The main reason for tonight was the whole 89 team thing. If it looks like it will hold off then I might risk it and make the drive.

Ya, the 89 thing will be cool. I'll be there. Nothing's on the radar now. It's expected to start out west later this afternoon and spread east. I don't wanna take the blame if you come and it pours, but I'd say it's a good chance we get it in.

I'm there, don't worry no blame will be placed on anyone, but myself.

Gene said that Kenny Williams will be out for at least 4 weeks. Connor won't play tonight but is kinda day to day, you know he's really going to want to be out there tomorrow. Hope his back cooperates.

Shox answer with 3 so far. Error, walk, HBP, and a Coleman double.

                              3-1 still no outs.
