We benefited from a couple of teams in front of us having horrid weeks and a couple teams behind us having so-so weeks.

It looks like, for the most, we escaped the wrath from the polls this week. We still however are in dire straights from hosting.

Poll Mechanics. That why it is so important to be ranked as high as you can get in pre-season. It become impossible to move somebody out of the polls if they high enough (as long as they don't tank).

Likewise if you start low or out of the polls you have to be almost perfect to move up or keep from dropping out.
