Let me ask everyone this. If the woman that made the complaint and had the order placed was a relative of yours, would you want her name all over everything? So think about that before everyone goes complaining about her name being removed from this thread.

      I agree with Zardoz.

If we're gonna keep the woman's name out of this, then we need to keep the word 'victim' out of the title.

Seems like a double-standard to me..

Of course we would't. Who would? However, the reason this is newsworthy is because Gene is an important and very public figure in our community.

If this IRO involved you or me, well at least me, no one would really care nor would it be particularly newsworthy.

May not make it right, but that's just the way it is and it is an unfortunate side effect of being a high profile public personage.

Yes, and being a high profile local legend, you need to “tiptoe through the tulips” so to speak. :innocent:

                Good job

Thanks to DU and Royal for correcting the title of this thread and removing the term "victim."

Maybe she is, maybe she isn't. But in any event, it isn't something we know as a matter of fact at this point, so I appreciate the correction. By the way, I agree with your concern about potentially slanderous remarks, Royal -- no point in even opening up that possibility, and such restraint is one of the things that makes Shockernet an oasis among message boards.

If I were in her family, I would want her name kept from the news. If I were in Gene's family, I would want his name kept out of it. The civil court calendar http://www.dc18.org/courtscheduling/...ud20080410.pdf, however, is a public record.
