    Amazing we won at KU with that idiot behind the plate.

    That wasn't even to his knees, yet alone above them.
    Why is the umpiring always to blame when we lose?

    We had plenty of time to adjust. Oklahoma State did. We didn't. Maybe we should look to Oklahoma State, and look to swing early in the count at decent pitches instead of praying for walks.

    It's getting tiresome hearing the excuses pour in.

    We're probably a Top 25, maybe Top 20 team at best. Our hitting is the same as it's been the last 7 or so years.. weak.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

    • Whatever the arguments, I'm still hoping for Wichita State v UNC world series. Yes, I would pull for the Shocks. :-)

        No kidding. From a guy that has no room to talk, that fat asses zone moved all night. How he keeps his job is beyond me.

        The team built to win in that cracker box, won. We play them at our place it's an entirely different game, score and winner.

        I'd love to see us play at home in front of 8000+ every game, but I fear no one when we get to run out our top 3. Bring on anyone in their regional. We'll be ready.

          That is a great way to put it. "Groundhog Day." I agree that pitching is not this programs problem. As College Baseball has progressed in popularity our recruits that could swing it have been going elsewhere. Look at our best player on the team CG. He is only here becase NU thought he was to error prone. We can't depend on gifts like that to make it back the college world series. We have Brent Kemnitz who is one of the most respected pitching coaches in the nation. Maybe its time we hire a hitting a coach with the same "rep" to try and pick up a few playmakers.

          • Enjoyed it. Good to know the baseball board is similar to the UNC basketball board. :-)

            • We certainly need some big bats. It would be nice if they would quit going pro and come play 3 years. :-)

                How quickly we forget about all the talent we have lost before it has ever set foot on campus.

                • Well let's see. We are now 0-5 against the top 25. We struck out 12 times (albeit that ump sucked), only had 5 hits and Mid American Christian scored 1 more run on these guys than we did - the number 14th ranked team in the nation.

                  Our pitching was still good. Holding them to 5 runs was a great accomplishment in that ballpark against those hitters, I've got no problem with what they did. This game is all on the offense.

                  Let's go ahead and sweep another bad team this weekend to make our record look good, but records are deceiving. Andy - job well done. You are the only guy right now pulling his weight. You will be missed after this season. Wish we had you for another two more.

                  • We need to reassess some things:

                    1. Building a team on speed and then refusing to ever try and bunt for a hit;
                    2. Our new explosive weight and speed training program that is counteracted by the fact that the strength trainer doesn't recommend the team to take supplements that I can guarantee you every other college team takes;
                    3. Playing two games a week during the Valley season. The only way some of these guys are going to break out of their slumps is to spend hours in the cage under video surveillance. Kinda hard to do when you play every night.
                    Because Denny Crane says so Dammit!

                      Ummm, are you saying we are the only Top 40 program that loses players to the draft. Gimme a break.
