The Shockers next opponent Grand Canyon University (also from the WAC) knocked off #22 Oklahoma State 6-1 on Saturday and then lost to them tonight 6-5 in Phoenix. They play the rubber game of their series on Monday afternoon.

The Shocks better be ready to play.

Why is ISUb playing ISU r this early???? Too cheap/lazy to line up other OOC games?

Both happened to schedule the same tournament. They may or may not have even know who the other teams in the tournament were when they scheduled.

Grand Canyon might be a handful. Their No. 1 starter allowed 1 hit while striking out 7 in six innings of work. After losing by one run yesterday they have a rubber match with the Pokes today at 2 p.m. Central and an exhibition with the Arizona D-backs Wednesday before flying into Wichita.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

                  It would appear so.

Looks like it is the 1st game on the D-Backs spring season schedule.

Game will be played at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale. Spring training home for the Rockies and the D-Backs.

Very common for MLB teams to schedule colleges early on. Florida State has played the Phillies many times.

The Yankee's played Virginia Tech shortly after the shooting there. Somebody is playing at Army this year.

Has WSU ever played an exhibition against an MLB team? I'd love to see the Royals come through Wichita on the way back from AZ.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Grand Canyon beats Oklahoma State 4-0 this afternoon to take the series, outscoring OSU 15-7 in the 3 game set.

This weekend will be a good test.

It no doubt helps if you're located in the reasonably close vicinity of a MLB spring training facility.

Yep, either OSU was overrated or GCU will be very tough. I am thinking maybe a litte bit of both. Maybe the cooler weather forecast for this weekend will cool GCU off a bit.

Right now Friday looks particularly nasty with forecasted high of 48, cloudy and winds out of the NW at 23 mph. The over/under on home runs to the left side of center field on Friday is 0.5. I will take the under. However, a couple of balls Alec Bohm hit to RF this weekend would probably be home runs in those conditions.

Saturday and Sunday look better. Not appeciably warmer but some Sun and more importantly lighter winds.
