It was probably worth a shot. Maddon out-maneuvered Bochy by a lot in the 9th. But, it doesn't help when like 5 straight guys completely blow it. Hard for a manager to overcome that in any situation.

Even having a chance to make throws instead of Crawford would have helped. But still a nice end personally to his season, notwithstanding that he'd no doubt trade his couple of hits not involved in the scoring for the win; and also something that should help him in the offseason and next spring.

Where will CG play next season? That is the question.

Spoke with one of my buddies who lives out in Eugene, OR and is a huge Giants fan. He's saying sports radio figures there locally are wanting the Giants to resign Conor and a lot of Giants fans love Conor. Hopefully he can parlay his postseason success into a large payday.

Glad for Conor, nice to see a former Shocker baseball player having his day in the sun. Unfortunately for him, his Giants got beat by my Cubs. Sad for Conor, happy for the Cubs, even though the way they are playing against the Dodgers, they'll probably blow it in the NLCS again.

Earned himself some money in the postseason. Excellent.

Conor has been battling ongoing back spasms and back comfort this season. His has spent roughly 2 monts of the season on the disable list and when he has played in a limited role he has not be very productive. Tough situation for Conor at 30 years old and with his back issues.

And for those that may not have heard, the Tampa Bay Rays traded Casey to the White Sox on July 27th.
