With the built in raises I calculated that he would have a base salary of $320k next year and the $340k for the following 3 years. Not sure if he would be owed those raises for those final 3 years on a buyout though. So I think we are looking at anywhere between $1,280,000 and $1,340,000 at the end of this season.

That is correct but he is maintaining his home in Wichita and his wife and kids are staying in Wichita for now. The position with the Padres is a traveling position so he can pretty much make his home base wherever he chooses. I don't think he would have any problem leaving that minor league travelling infield coach position if the WSU job was offered to him. He has public stated that he had a storng interest in the WSU job.

Perhaps, but I don't, so I don't like to spend it on others behalf. I do not know what motivations such contributors might have. As far as I know, 0 of them care about baseball at WSU.
