Where are non-students who are on campus to watch a baseball game supposed to park? I noticed today that you have to have a permit to park anywhere near the Eck.

I believe parking for the game is in the old rec field area, just to immediate west of Eck parking lot. Or east of the Corbin faculty lot. Unless something has changed, has it?

If there are baseball games going on, parking in those nearby lots is allowed, the only restriction being getting into the VIP or SASO areas in that lot right by the stadium.

Park wherever you want, except for the SASO lots where you won't be let in anyway. Parking tickets are a non-issue if you are not a student, faculty, or staff.

        Straight from the horse's mouth:

If you are not a student or faculty at WSU and you recieved a ticket, you are not required to do anything as long as the vehicle is not registered in a current WSU student or faculty members name. The ticket will be voided automatically.

Yep. I know I often park and just leave my car on the campus. Why? Because I enjoy sticking it to the man, not paying tickets, and hearing people complain about not having enough parking at WSU.

I laugh quite a bit at the OMGnowheretopark subset of the current student body, whenever I happen to be parking on campus myself. There's plenty of parking at WSU... plenty.

Nothing's changed. In the early 90s, people would vulture in the lot south of Cessna for 15-20 minutes (where Shocker Hall is located now), rather than park over by Koch Arena and walk an extra couple hundred yards in half the time. And there was always a letter to the editor in the Sunflower complaining about parking.

I was there a decade later, and had no problem parking - intentionally with no other cars near me - on the WSU campus. It was just an extra five minutes of walking and exercise. The same areas I parked back then, still have the same parking density today (read: low).

I did enjoy screwing with the lot vultures though on my way to and from my more distant parking areas. Those people were/are so pathetic.

I would roll through the "desirable" areas once just to see if I could catch a spot, but if not, simply moved on to where spaces were available. Of course many times I was there so damned early parking really wasn't a problem. There are very few days where the weather is so nasty that the extra walk is truly miserable.

Yeah, but by the time everyone wastes the minutes looking for a close spot in the close lots, and then admits defeat and defers to an out lot, I was parked and sitting in class after simply choosing the BFE lots from the get-go. Same sort of human decision-making and end result happens everywhere people are parking.

On the weather, I'm warm-blooded, so the Kansas weather is a non-issue generally (winter speaking) to me. I don't even wear a coat to and from CKA during basketball season.

Oh, I know, and I didn't troll every row, it was just the pass through whatever lane I entered. This was before perimeter road was like it is now on the west side and you had to drive through the lot to get where you were going. But I was usually there by 8 am so parking was aplenty pretty much everywhere.

For games now I usually park on the south side of campus south of the RSC and enjoy the stroll through campus, it is a very pleasant walk with all the new work on the landscaping.
