He needs to get ABs ASAP or those late season call ups will certainly eat into his opportunities.

Is Christian Colon injured? He seems like a much better option than Coleman at this point.

He is who they sent down when they brought Dusty up. Long term, he is a much better fit, and will likely be one of the September call ups. They sent him down because he wasn't getting any playing time (just like Dusty). With the DH in the American League, it renders strategy, pinch hitting, etc out of the game, so bench players become spot starters to rest guys. They wanted him to get more PT so they sent him to the minors. They are basically not worried if Dusty doesn't get a ton of PT, because he's not in the long term picture.

They just sent Dusty back to Omaha, recalling Cheslor Cuthbert.

Not the worst thing in the world for him. He got a month of big-league money and experience (if nothing else, just the chance to be around the dugout and clubhouse to learn some things). Now, he can go back to Omaha with a chance for some regular action...maybe position himself for a September call-up.

I'd be curious to see if Cuthbert gets a start at some point this weekend and then flip this transaction back around. Due to early season rain, the Royals are in the middle (tonight is game 9) of 18 games in 17 days. Cuthbert starts a game for Infante and/or Moustakas and then heads back down.

As a Cardinals fan, I'm certainly not going to complain about last night's outcome, because Rosenthal was about to blow yet another one as he struggles to regain his early form. He's a good closer, but not so much lately.

Meanwhile, maybe Dusty can knock the dust off in Omaha and find his way to another organization where he'd actually get a chance to play. Good luck to him.

Dying for him to succeed but this is the Royals. He is 28 and this is his shot. Hope he gets a few more AB's. Gotta be ready.
                  Kris Bryant's first 5 ABs: 0-4, 3K, FC.

Now Bryant is hitting .258, 12 HR, 58 RBI

I'm not trying to compare home to one of the best young players in baseball, but pointing out A LOT of players have early plate struggles.

Once he gets that first hit, then we'll see what he can do.

Dusty broke his nose with his own foul ball while attempting to bunt.

Congrats for making an appearance in The Big Show. Very few get an opportunity to live even one day of The Dream. You lived it for a week. Hopefully you get another chance but if not, you have competed in an arena of a select few. We are proud of you.

One day in the bigs is free health care for life. That's no small thing.

Dusty got the start at shortstop tonight for the Padres in his first MLB appearance since 2015.

Sick! I had no idea he was with the Pads! I'll have to check him out. 1 for 5 with an RBI in two games so far.

That baserunning blunder in his first game as a Royal didn't make a good first impression. Unfortunate. Glad to see he's getting another shot!
