MVC Tournament - Non-WSU Games Thread

Yep. End of the day, if I was the coach, I wouldn't have my pitcher face Hilliard because I wouldn't want the PC over 130. And when the reliever comes in, I wouldn't want the tying run on 2nd base.

But I bet your last words before heading back to the dugout would be don't give this guy anything he can pull and keep the ball down and away (not up and in).

And then there were 6. Can you imagine the change in emotions Illinois State had to deal with between the middle of the 8th inning and the end of he 8th inning and then Big John comes in and just wipes them out in the 9th. They had to be a little traumatized. Some would say Shocked. Perhaps that carried over to today.

Bradley wins 5-4 against ISUb on the strength of three runs in the top of the 9th. The Braves are now in the catbird seat for their side of the bracket.

DBU gets a 2-run homer in the Top of the 3rd to tie their game with Indiana State in the top of the 3rd. This game is muddling along with high pitch counts (52 + 57 = 109) and 5 walks in 3 innings so far.

DBU now leads 9-5 in the Top of the 7th. Apparently this game got a little crazy. Not exactly expediting the process of getting games in today.

The top 4 seeds remain. As it should be I suppose. 3 of these teams should be in the tournament although Bradley going 10-11 in the Valley regular season could be used as an excuse by the selection committee to leave then out. I think I am rooting for Bradley to get to the championship game. That should pretty much secure them a spot in the NCAA field.

MSU and DBU are in.

And, of course, we know what the Shocks have to do to get in.

Best outcome for the Valley. Shockers defeat the Braves in the championship game. Valley gets 4 teams into the tournament.

Congrats to the Bradley Braves on their 3-1 win over DBU to advance to the MVC Tournament Championship game. I think that should secure the Braves a place in the NCAA Tournament for the 1st time since 1968.

The Braves RPI is now 19. They are 5-7 against the RPI top 50. They are in the championship game. If they get left out it will be a total screw job.
