    Tanner Kirk

Tanner Kirk has been out with some kind of an injury for several weeks. the game last night was the 1st time he'd played in quite awhile.

      No offense today. Shame.

What is the freaking fascination with Burns?

Leadoff error in the 8th gives some hope, and then Burns is PH and strikes out on 4 pitches.

Kihle with a 2-run HR to make things interesting. 2-4 Top 8th with Tinkham up.

Burns also manages to not catch a routine fly ball in center in the bottom half of the inning.

We can talk about the lack of talent, but some of the coaching decisions this year aren't exactly stellar either.

            4-2 Final

Can't really hang this one on the pitching staff.

            14-24.

And is Vickers injured or hurt? He goes 3 for 4 yesterday and has been hitting the ball better all week so we sit him today???

Tomorrow's game is schedule to start at 11:00 am as they try to dodge the forecasted rain.

Mike Kennedy mentioned the play multiple times in the post game and during the Kemnitz show. It got to be a bit childish, IMO. "If Tanner Kirk doesn't misplay a routine popup we might still be playing."

                      Smh.

Yeah. If the Shocker offense had put up 2 more runs they would have still been playing also. Obviously not seeing the play makes it difficult to comment on but Michael Burns also lost a ball in CF that fell safely. That would indicate to me that it was a tough sky. In any case, **** happens. I'm sure no one feels worse about the play than Tanner. It's just been one of those years and everybody, and I mean everybody, is frustrated.

It's not like one more loss this season is going to make much difference one way or the other.

Sort of. Except that despite all the troubles, the Shox still had managed to find themselves in the middle of a conference race. Was it likely they would win the league? No. But that possibility was still out there. It still is, honestly, though it's a bit more of a long shot now.

I suppose, but you win as a team and you lose as a team. Tanner made a mistake. It's done. If Ryan Tinkham has elevated the ball hit hit with 2 runners on in the 6th we are probably not even talking about it.

Bargfeldt with 4 scoreless so far. Not overpowering, but stays around the zone and doesn't seem to self-destruct the first time something goes wrong.

Shox take a 1-0 lead in the 5th on back-to-back doubles by Sanagorski and Kirk.

Atta boy, Kirk. Atone for mistakes. That's how it's supposed to work.

And Vickers singles in Kirk. 2-0. Good effort by the bottom of the lineup there. Also a good time to take a lead, with rain in the forecast.

                                2-0 Shox Mid 5th
