I'm not even sure how you would categorize how WSU need this game.

The team, coaching staff, etc need to look deep inside themselves and decide what kind of program they want to be.

Right now, they aren't even a shadow of the former teams.

Thing is hitting has actually gotten better, almost a run better than last year. It seems to be even getting better as the season moves along (maybe because they are in conference play). I understand the pitching staff has taken injuries, but there is no excuse for giving up walk after walk after walk.

Got back from the game. Didn't get there until we were down 1-3. The team played solid ball taking an 8-4 lead into the top of the 9th. Hard to believe the bottom could fall out that bad. One would think you could almost throw batting practice and get 3 outs before they could get 4 runs.

First problem was bringing back a guy basically on rehab in a 4 run game. Dude couldn't throw a strike to save his life, much less a baseball game. Subsequent pitchers couldn't stem the tide because it was too late.

You can't piss away a game you have won when your team is struggling.

Kemnitz needs to wear this one.
