Does it seem odd to anyone else the Walker calls the pitches and not the pitching coach? I know Walker was a catcher but I doubt he called the pitches then since WSU was one of the only programs that had catchers call their own games. Wouldn't this seem like something you would expect your pitching coach to do? Seems to me like this could cause some issues within the coaching staff especially when you have a team ERA over 5 and have given up the following number of runs in your past eight games (8, 14, 8, 11, 13, 3, 12, 4). Just an average of 9.125 runs per game surrendered...

I don't think there is any real mystery. Look at these walk stats:
A 0 or 1 out walk adds ~0.3 to 0.4 of expected runs for that inning. WSU pitchers are averaging 3.97 walks per game and 0.94 HBP per game. That is alot of free runs that the other team doesn't have to work for.Attached Files

I watched a HCTB interview about a week ago.. He seemed like he was in a embattled mind frame. Not good. It takes major changes to get any coach out of a embattled mind frame, and after what just happened with retaining Marshall, there won't be any sudden moves by wsu if it seems it maybe time to move on from Butler.

I hope they are right. Maybe an outsiders perspective is what some of us need to hear.

Also talked about how HCAG really wanted him a few years back, but that Butler held off because he knew he wanted to be a HC in the near future.
The announcers were pretty good at being bias will still being the Texas broadcast. Rather refreshing. The Assman

Despite the loss, I enjoyed watching the game on the Longhorn Network (ESPN3 from my iPad); it was a good game and gave me some hope for the future. Would have been easy to give up early, however they continued to battle."You Just Want to Slap The #### Outta Some People"

Are you kidding me? Why the hell would you make a deal like that for a coach with so little head coaching experience. I guess we are still on the hook for 1.4 Mil. Look on the bright side, if things don't improve next year it would only cost 1.2 Mil to buy him out at the end of next season.Last edited by shockfan89_; April 8, 2015, 09:56 AM.
