Pelfrey has the start tomorrow in KC for the Twins. We have potential for a Shocker v. Shocker at bat or two.

Anyone have an idea the last time that happened in the show? Pelfrey cross paths with Gillaspie? Before that?
Gillaspie tee'd off on Pelfrey in Minnesota last year.

I also did a quick Google search on Pat Meares vs. Darren Dreifort. This came in 2000.

Baseball: Right-hander's string of quality outings is ruined as Pirates bomb him and the bullpen, 12-1.

Pat Meares' two-out, solo home run got the Pirates started in the second. The No. 8 batter hit Dreifort's first-pitch fastball into the seats in the left-field corner for his 11th homer

I was reading the Sunday paper today, reading the Shockers in the Pros - I didn't see Dayne Parker or Sam Hilliard on the "Minor" list of players. Have I missed something. If any of you know about these two, please respond to this post. Thank you

Looks like Sam is playing for the Rockies Rookie League team in Grand Junction and is off to a very nice start:

Sam Hilliard College, Minor, Fall & Winter Leagues Statistics including batting, fielding, prospect rankings and more on Baseball-Reference.com

Dayne hit 0.197 in 137 AB's last summer mostly in A ball with the Quad Cities River Bandits in the Midwest League. No stats for this year so could be he is no longer pursing a pro baseball career.

If Sam is playing and doing well I hope the Eagle includes him on the Major/Minor list in the paper next time :star:

1972, I'm no help for info on sam. But in regards to Dayne, I heard last summer tht he just wanted to play on season of professional baseball and then hang it up. He has a kid on the way with his wife and wanted to be able to say he played professionally.

Good for him. I am a Dayne Parker fan and I think he played really well at the next level even though his BA was low. I wish all of the boys senior year as a Shocker would have been more successful for them, but the boys he played with had some great memories as a Shocker the year before in Gene's final year with them. I wish him all the best with being a parent and family man.
