Whatever the case, I'm just glad we landed on a tournament type that is at least somewhat fair and easy to follow.

Playing Servais Says there for 8 years was really getting old. Seemed like every year he'd dream up some ridiculous new format to try to help his team get into the tourney, and the rest of the league would just blindly go along with it. I know they got to storm the field for a meaningless 7-inning no-hitter, but I'm not sure they ever got much more out of it. Did I mention I really don't miss anything about having that school in this league?

Quick nine pitch first inning for Cale.

Bayliff starts out the bottom of the first making Savas for 8 pitches before drawing a walk. Making the Redbirds pay for walking the leadoff man, something this team is loathe to do, would be a nice start to the tournament.

Casey should have taken Savas out, but the usual no patience and inability to move runners results in an all too typical fruitless inning.

I still don't like it before the 7th inning but at least that one was a base hit attempt. Play for the big inning and terrible planning knowing they would IBB Casey with 2 outs and the base open.
