Gillaspie up with the bases loaded. I can smell the victory already. If he bats with two players on his back and carries them around, will they allow a 6R HR?
He strikes out. Hate to say it, but Gillaspie was pretty terrible today, and it hurt us.

Assuming Evansville handles SIU today we I at least like our chances of staying alive for one more game. But winning 5 games in a row will require a great outing by Kris Gardner (which is possible based on his performance last year and his last outing) and then someone else to get back to Cale on Saturday.
If we do get to a second bracket final game on Friday who do we turn to? Reagan Biechler perhaps? Garrett Brummett (although his 13.89 ERA this year is scary)?
I suppose no need to worry about that at this point.Last edited by 1972Shocker; May 20, 2014, 02:24 PM.

My initial reaction was to think the Shocks need to face SIU tomorrow, but maybe if Evansville uses Freeland and loses anyway -- as they're currently trying to do -- the best outcome would be to face the Aces tomorrow and hope Ladwig can dump them out of the tournament. That could make the climb even less than Pikes Peak.

SIU leading 9-1 heading into the bottom of the 7th. Could be worse SIU grounded into an inning ending DP with the bases loaded in the top of the 7th.
