You would be wrong, I hope. Coach Gautreau said earlier this week that this series cannot help him. They are gearing up for the last bit of conference season as winning the CUSA tourney is only way they will play post season ball.

We are still playing for something. I hope we play like it.

He could easily pitch on Sunday couldn't he and then be ready to go the following weekend against Southern Miss.

Yes, but even that being the case you still want to see your top guys get some work to stay sharp. I think we will see him because of that but they may very well keep him on a limited pitch count (maybe in the neighborhood of 50 to 60).

Sounds like Eric Harbutz and Parker Zimmerman did not make the trip to New Orleans. Eric is targeting next weekend for his return. I wonder if Parker may well be looking at the end of his playing career. If I understand correctly his concussion was caused by a foul ball he took in he face mask. Considering how long he has been out that's not a good sign for a catcher. Your pretty much guaranteed that that kind of thing will happen again (and again).

Hopefully, Eric can come back in good enough shape and with good enough timing to be of help. If I'm Parker's parents (or perhaps even his coach) I probably don't want him playing behind the plate again. He can finish out the year and serve in a pinch hitting roll. Chances of being beaned are much smaller in that limited role. Unlikely that Parker would ever advance very far in pro-baseball so he needs to finish up while he still has his health and move on with his life. Absolutely, no reason to risk any further and potentially long-term damage. There is always coaching for a guy like Parker if he wants to stay involved in the game.

I hear Wilkins stadium is a good place to go to listen to the Shocker men on Saturday and Sunday and while you are there you can enjoy some Shocker softball.

Tickets to the Saturday's DH and to Sunday's game are $1 each if purchased in advance.

Great deal. I did get online and purchased 2 tickets for both days. There is a $2.00 charge for the print-at-home option and a $5.00 charge for the will call options. I assume if you are able to go by the ticket office today you can buy the tickets without the extra delivery charges.

My 2 tickets for the 3 games cost me a total of $8.00 with the print-at-home charges. Still a pretty sweet deal.

I just re-confirmed with the ticket office that the $1 tickets for this weekends softball games must be bought by 5:00 pm this afternoon. Either at the Koch Arena ticket office or online.

Sale ends in about 2 hours and 10 minutes.
