  • Opening day starters

Any word on opening day starters? Here's my line up on opening day. leading off in center Andy. Hitting second at second Josh. Batting third at third Connor. Clean up and catching Tyler. Hitting fifth and DH Cody. Batting six and playing right Ryan. Hitting seventh at first Tyler. Batting eighth at short Dusty and Hitting nineth in left Kenny. The opening day starting pitcher the senior Rob. Any comment? :wsu_posters:

My guess is Shafer gets the opening day start and will be the Friday guy. Other than that I would expect to see something along those lines. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if the game may get bumped an hour so it doesn't overlap with basketball...

That would be a great question for Gene on his show.

The better answer would be to move the basketball so it does not overlap with baseball.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

This is to shock 02 where is Ryan Jones? Also the reason I went with Rob on opening day is to pitch left right left. What do you think? Because I believe all three are aces.

Oh, I completely forgot him. I probably put him in left instead of Bascue.

I agree. Gene may not like fielding that question though. He hates taking a backseat to basketball and how could anyone blame him.

The coach with the national championship gets to decide who gets bumped. :D
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

This is all just for fun. I sure as heck don't "know" anything. I haven't even been to a practice this spring.

No, and I doubt we will until a day or two prior. Undoubtedly, Brent is superstitious about these sort of things.

All things being equal, I believe it has to be Shafer considering he's been the #1 guy for so long when healthy. You know, the whole 'set the tone' thing.

                          My line-up.

                          Andy Dirks - CF
                          Josh Workman - 2B
                          Conor Gillaspie - 3B
                          Clint McKeever - DH
                          Ryan Jones - RF
                          Tyler Hill - 1B
                          Tyler Weber - C
                          Dustin Coleman - SS
                          Kenny Williams - LF

Weber is low because he's so slow. Williams gets the 'secondary lead-off' spot.

Starting weekend rotation: Shafer, Musgrave, Capra.
                          Long relief: Womack
                          Closer: Coleman

                            My starting lineup:

                            1. 2B Workman
                            2. CF Dirks
                            3. 3B Gillaspie
                            4. C Weber
                            5. SS Coleman
                            6. DH McKeever
                            7. 1B Hill
                            8. RF Bascue
                            9. LF Jones

I think Dusty is going to have a break out year with the bat. I know he can hit at this level and is going to be a star for us this season. I am hoping Workman works out at second base and at the top of the order, if not someone else will need to fill that spot.
