And yeah, I'd agree, sometimes they take a bit to take a bend. My current "flying W" hat is being a real pain in that regard.
I have bought a new hat every year at the start of the season and have NEVER bought a flat billed cap. Would not own one. Will not let any of my grand kids wear one.

Going back to my previous post if any of my grand kids choose to wear a flat billed cap I hope it has a jayhawk or a cat on it because I won't be in the same stadium with them.

As @Ricky Bobby: says, there is nothing structurally different about a flat or curved billed hat. They are the exact same hat, except that one of them has been bent. Being against buying a flat billed hat because you wouldn't wear it with a flat bill is like being against flat paper because you want a paper airplane. Sure, you could purchase a pre-folded paper airplane, but you could also just fold it yourself. Same with the hat. You can buy a pre-curved hat or you can buy a flat bill and curve it yourself.

Not trying to be a jerk here at all, but...

If you want a fitted baseball hat, then it comes with a flat bill when it's new. Always been that way in my lifetime, and I'm roughly halfway to expiration if average lifespans are to be believed. It's not a function of style; it's meant to be bent by you after you buy it. The act of NOT bending the bill has only been adopted as a style by some younger players over the past few years. The hat worn by every baseball player you see started life with a flat bill, regardless of if that hat has a flat bill or a curved bill when you see the player wearing it.

I grew up during the Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris days, with curved bills and a crease in front at the top. That is when ballcaps looked their best. Flat billed caps remind me of some western Kansas farmer from some small town ... lol

Well Dan I don't feel I need to chime in about why I have a personal preferance to the type of hat I prefer. Why don't you chime in and tell us why you think my personal preference is odd?

No, according to Ricky Bobby I can't buy a curved bill hat and I have been buying flat billed caps that someone has precurved them which was unbeknownst to me. Who would of thought? To say that the two are structurally the same is true but that is like saying that a volkswagon is structurally the same as a Ferrari. My being against buying a flat billed hat because I wouldn't wear it is not the same as being against flat paper because my personal preference is to not look like a wanna be hip hop guy with my pants saggin and my butt hanging out, but then again that is my personal preference. So really everyone can wear what they prefer and I won't get my briefs in a tight little bunch but then again you may want to call me out for not wearing boxers or going commando. Personal preference.

I never thought a discussion on hats would get so entertaining.

The only real question left --- Can any of these new recruits wear a D1 curved bill?

All briefs start out flat and then you have to bunch 'em up yourself.

But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'
